So I've recently learned front and backswaps, tried 270s on a bit. I'm having trouble stopping the momentum. I can only do them closer to the end of the rail versus in the middile and then wait for combos like front swap front 2. I usually just kfed instead because of the continuing moment. Any tips?
Swandog7Can anyone else give me some tips?
Two things. First get really good at scissoring if you aren't already. If you are, don't huck as hard, often times I like to aim for like a 230, rather than a 270 Cus your momentum carries you. The more you practice the More you can get the huck dialed then it's basically cake from there.
What are you practicing the 2's on? If you have a box to learn on I found that wa easiest as it is less risk. I foun that stoping your body rotation then allowing your legs to catch up. I found I would throw my upper body first and bring the skis around. I found a good way to practice was to practive switch on. Going on switc gives you a similar feelin as your rotation wants to pull you round. If you learn to control a switch on it is pretty much the same thing. Practice switch on to switc off as that will allow you to control the forward rotation well. Hopefully that helps a little I was never muc of a coach.

Would you day this goes for swaps too? Or is it more of edge control and such?

Yep any time you swap direction it's all just controlling and stopping your rotation. I find it good to practice on boxes as you can't use your edge as much so you actually have to control your body position an not just relie on stopping rotation with your edges. If you can stop rotation on a wide flat box you will find it much easier on rails as you will be able to use your edges too.

Thanks man. Normally I see you in gear talk, but I guess you can work wonders here too

Yea op this, what I said about kind of under rotating was more for 2s, but try digging the inside edge on your leading ski, and it will help everything. And for swaps to remember to POP When actually doing the swap.
Just my 2ยข and I'm by no means good at rails lol
But to actually answer your question, edge control, so dig dig dig that inside leading edge in

Sometimes that my problem though on blind swaps, I'll keep bringing it around a bit too much. I'll try not to scissor as much next timei have the chance
As soon as you switch up or 2 on try and dig your heel or toe in. Sometimes you have to exaggerate that edge catch until you get used to it. Dont go k fed or front front right away try and take it front sw up to sw and front switch up to foward as a progression
shin-bangFirst get really good at scissoring .
He's a dood.
