I'm stuck in Vista, California for the next 4 days on a worktrip - carless. I have a sweet hotel room, but I want to do something while I'm here if possible.
Anyone live in the area? Lets go ding dong ditch some random people's stupid houses.

Considering people down here haven't even seen a pedestrian in 8 yrs, I'm afraid for my life while simply walking down the street...
People don't walk places in san diego. Haha! Uhh, get a tan brohan. Go snurfin OR Go to tijuana and take some photos. But don't look so skinny and white when you do it.
pray that time passes quickly so you can get out of shit hole southern california.

Food:
The Yellow Deli (hippie cult that has bomb deli food, and great coffee and tea. open 24/5. closed on their sabbath)
Pizza Port : Delicious Pizza and brewery in Carlsbad.
Lamp Post Pizza: also has a good beer selection. great happy hours usually.
Albertacos : off sycamor and the 78.. awesome carne asada fries, CA burritos and breakfast burritos.
Oscars : In san marcos. awesome fish burritos.
Peppertrea ice cream. delicious.
Slaters 50/50
Beer:
Booze Bro's. Small brewery off sycamore and the 78. Great atmosphere, I probably know half the people there.
Mother Earth : across the parking lot of the yellow deli. great beer as well.
Iron Fist Brewing : its close to Booze Bro's.
Pizzo Port : great beer, great environment, close to beach.
Belching Beaver: never been, heard its good tho
Stone Brewery: if you like stone, then sure, but its overpriced.. food and everything.
Places:
Downtown Carlsbad has some really cool spots to walk around.
Oceanside Pier
Oceanside Harbor. At night is pretty fun, have a bon fire, walk out on the north jetty and drink
Carlsbad has some great cougar bars if you're into that.
Coffee:
Yellow Deli
Old California Coffee House
Vinaka's Cafe
Lush Lounge
Lofty Coffee (south in Encinitas)
oh! Flying Pig is delicious! a little spendy. but delicious.
but honestly, just cruising up or down the 101 from oceanside down to Encinitas is a fun trip.. There's a TON of shops and restaurants.. and a beautiful drive.
Also, torrey pines is beautiful. its a casual hike and just super fun to go down to the beach and wander.
Del Mar Fair or horse racing is probably going on right now too. Free concerts on friday included in admission to the races (its like 5 bucks). You'd have to check the schedule tho.
and if you have time actually in SD, let me know. I live downtown now..

Make sure to go North on the beach... Lots of things to look at. Bring a camera.
RachyBring a camera.
Considering I'm down here with 3 Nikon D700's and a D3s at my disposal... I have plenty of the sort lol.
what's the public transportation like here guys? I don't have a car available to me, as I'm being shuttled around by my boss (who probably wouldn't let me borrow his car to joyride around in)

Car2go?
PoLaRpEaKCar2go?
Nah. Looks like that's just like zipcar in the bay area. Not really something available in the suburbs.
Also expensive. 15$ a minute? i can get a train down there in an hour from oceanside it looks.. for 3$ more.
Vista looks close to carlsbad why don't you just walk, or borrow a bike?

If you havent been there before it's pretty mind-boggling that the other side of the fence= basically a different world.

I'm like 10 miles away from Carlsbad/Oceanside/Anything near the ocean. I'm not about to walk that when I could just take an uber or a train or something - especially if I'm hauling camera gear. Also, navagating the suburbs on foot sounds like a nightmare. fuck that.
Borrowing a bike would be great! too bad there's nobody I know down here who has a bike I could borrow - otherwise I'd definitely be doing that.

Id just uber myself 10 miles over to the coast and have some fun with your cameras. Everywheres been mentioned I do like La Jolla though.

I'm thinking I'm not even going to go down to SD.. I'm right here by Oceanside/Carlsbad. might as well soak up the ocean when it's not too far away rather than waste time getting to SD and hope to get back at a normal hour.
