Go habs go
You were waiting all year to make this thread weren't you Frenchy haha.
Bring back the poll with who will win the Cup you jackwagon.
Only 10 more days till the draft! Who's excited? I really hope that Eichel ends up in a Sabres jersey and that he doesn't decide to go back to college.
#LetsGoBuffalo
the poll should include a "any team team that does not hail from a city that never freezes" option. the cup should never reside in LA, Phoenix, Tampa, etc.
GO HAWKS!!
Terravianien is gonna be a stud, hawks now will be a triple threat

we already know montreal's gonna win though???? haha kidding... but maybe

Lol I was just saying that because
2015 -- Chicago Blackhawks
2014 -- Los Angeles Kings
2013 -- Chicago Blackhawks
2012 -- Los Angeles Kings
2011 -- Boston Bruins
2010 -- Chicago Blackhawks
Even though I love the shit out of the hawks, can a Canadian team please fucking win?? I've yet to see one win in my lifetime, and please not the senators or the leafs...

I mean, Canucks arent gonna win, so you're rooting for montreal, which we already know, haha.

flames and oilers, flames you never know, since they made it this year, and oilers are gonna be STACKEDDDDD with yung talent

I guess I'm not sure how much young talent effect hockey teams, is it better than football? Do they actually make a difference?
eheathI guess I'm not sure how much young talent effect hockey teams, is it better than football? Do they actually make a difference?
it really depends, but yeah they do make a huge difference, edm has the #1 draft pick AGAIN this year, most likely going to draft mcdavid, ranked even better than crosby when he played in the same league as connor mcdavid. this kid is gonna be a superstar.
even look at how kane/crosby played when they were 18/19. they can make a pretty huge difference offensively on a team that is slacking in the goals department
Very interested to see what happens to the flames next year.
So much young talent on Ottawa. If they continue where they left off at the end of this past season Sens are going to do really well. Could easily be a cup contender.
Also have a huge amount of cap space to sign a top 6 forward and a top D, or even 1 superstar player.

Left out Ottawa who has been a contender for quite a few years.

I left out Toronto and Ottawa because I hate them. Thought I posted that earlier lolz
^^banned. Lolz.
I have about zero faith in the Sharks this upcoming season... might make a lower 6-7-8 seed, but I don't see them going far unless some absolutely crazy changes happen, and Doug Wilson goes back to fleecing other teams rather than creating an issue over who gets to be captain or something dumb.
Bruins baby. Hopefully this offseason does them well
man, this parade/rally is fucking nuts. too bad grant park was flooded out....obviously can't fit 2 million people in to Soldier Field like you can GP.
and I just have to throw this out there....the Hawks and Jim Cornelison have by far, hands down, THE BEST national anthem in all of professional sports. If you've never been at the UC for the anthem, you're missing out. Biggest 'Murica boner imaginable.

I thought you were through with being sharked every season?
also s/o to the goose winning TSNs play of the year. Jumped all over my room when it happened in real time.
DeebieSkeebiesI thought you were through with being sharked every season?
As in what? I wasn't a fan anymore?
Fan frustration does not make one not a fan...
Per NHL source, Chicago is currently asking for a 1st round pick, an A-level prospect, and a top 6 forward on an entry-level contract in exchange for Patrick Sharp.

You ever sold anything? Gotta start with a high asking price and work your way down from there. Realistically we're not going to get all that back, but I can see the Hawks getting a 1st round pick and an A level prospect for him.

The dude is 34 years old with a $5.9M cap hit for the next 2 years. Don't get me wrong, he has been a great player, but no way in hell would I give CHI any more than a 2nd round pick for him knowing that I had to take on that money too.

yea but this is like setting an asking price of 20 grand for a 95 Honda Civic with 300,000 miles.
essentially they're trying to trade Sharp for a younger Sharp who's asking for 1/4 the money
in the words on John Tortorella "the Canucks lineup is stagnant, and this isn't 2011 anymore"
I'm laughing at the Honda comparison. I see where you're coming from, but to compare Patrick Sharp to a car that has 300,000 miles on it is laughable. The man is still an asset to any team. Like I said, Chicago is definitely not getting their asking price back, but it's not like the man can't still play hockey. If we had the cap space I'd love to hold on to him. Regardless, we'll find out next week how this all transpires.

Losing Sharpie is a huge bummer for the hawks. Dude is a banger fucking player...especially in the playoffs. Had 5 goals and 10 assists on this cup run. Last cup run in '13 he had 10 goals and 5 or 6 assists (??). Yeah, he's getting older, but by no means does the dude not have skills. That experience is going to be hard to replace.
I'd much rather get rid of fucking Bickell. Yeah, he came up big in 2013, but hardly anything to speak of in 2014, and was fucking non-existent in this run. Dude had ZERO goals and 5 fucking assists in 2015 post. Shit's weak as fuck for a guy with a 4 million dollar cap hit. Not to mention that he only had 14 goals and 14 assists in the regular season...compared to Sharp's 27 goals and 37 assists. Bickell is the biggest waste of money on that fucking roster right now.
thoughts about a 3-on-3 OT? I personally would like to see shootouts get taken out and have the OT system like the playoffs installed. 3-on-3 is going to be interesting, will be neat seeing what lineups coaches throw together. still pending BoG approval though.

unfortunately I don't think they could have playoff-like OT since they do have to share arenas with other events so having a definite end by a certain time can be important for transforming the place into a basketball court or for a music show or something.
I like the 3-3 idea. Although I hope it will still start with 4-4 before moving to 3-3.
i'm more excited about the idea of a coach's challenge. i can think of one goal in particular that would have been called off in the playoffs if they'd have had the ability to challenge it. It was plain as day visible on the replay, but the ref didn't catch the interference, so the goal was allowed.
NHLPA was adamantly opposed to AHL-tested model (4 mins of 4 on 4 and 3 mins of 3 on 3) so NHL choice was no change at all or 3 on 3 for 5. — Bob McKenzie
I'd prefer it start as 4 on 4, but i'm just happy they're serious about making a change to be honest.
4 minutes of 4 on 4.
3 minutes of 3 on 3.
2 minutes of 2 on 2.
1 minute of 1 on 1.
Goalie fight.
^ Thats what they really need to do
Who's got the best three on three line?
Anaheim: Getlaf, Perry, Fowler
Arizona: Gagner, OEL, whoever they draft
Boston: Krejci, Krug, Hamilton
Buffalo: Eichel, Kane... Zadorov?
Calgary: Johnny, Monahan, Giordano
Carolina: Staal, Skinner, Faulk
Chicaco: Toews, Kane, Keith
Colorado: Duchene, Mackinnon, Barrie
Columbus: Johansen, Foligno, Johnson
Dallas: Benn, Seguin, Klingberg
Detroit: Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Kronwall
Edmonton: McDavid, Hall, Schultz
Florida: Huberdeau, Bjugstad, Campbell
LA: Kopitar, Gaborik, Doughty
Minnesota: Parise, Koivu, Suter
Montreal: Pacioretti, Desharnais, Subban
Nashville: Forsberg, Neal, Weber
New Jersey: Zajac, Cammalleri, Larsson
NYI: Okposo, Tavares, Leddy
NYR: Nash, Stepan, McDonagh
Ottawa: Turris, Stone, Karlsson
Philadelphia: Giroux, Voracek, Streit
Pittsburgh: Crosby, Malkin, Letang
San Jose: Thornton, Marleau, Burns
St. Louis: Tarasenko, Schwartz, Pietrangelo
Tampa Bay: Kucherov, Stamkos, Hedman (or just an all forward line of the triplets?)
Toronto: Kessel, Bozak, Reilly (should be Kadri at C but we know better)
Vancouver: Sedin, Sedin, Edler
Washington: Backstrom, Ovechkin, Carlson
Winnipeg: Wheeler, Little, Byfuglien
I'm still saying Pens win here. Chicago, Philly, Dallas and Anaheim have a case and Colorado's might just be too fast to deal with.

If DD starts 3 on 3 my blood will boil.
Carey Price CLEANING UP the awards. First goalie to get MVP since Theodore in 2002

chill dude Patch and DD complete each other
its science
.frenchychill dude Patch and DD complete each otherits science
Patch could make Torrey Mitchell look like a 2nd liner. He came top 5 in selke votes what a stud.
Price 3 for 3, i dont think anyone is even slightly surprised due to his season.

first, they will draft McDavid, there is absolutely no way he doesn't go first.
second Crosby played in the QJMHL and McDavid played in the OHL.
Karlsson with the Norris. Suck it Subban.
Bit bummed Stone didn't take Calder, but oh well. Ekblad was deserving.
Masterton went to Dubnyk.. whaaaat. Hammond deserved that so much more. An NHL goalie who moved to a new team and clicked and started playing amazing vs a career AHL goalie who out of sheer chance due to injuries got to start playing and instantly became the best goalie in the league for the time he played, broke records, and pushed his team from 14 points back into the playoffs.
-emile-second Crosby played in the QJMHL and McDavid played in the OHL.
QMJHL* ;)

still spelt it wrong

so ? haha it's a typo I switched 2 letters, you were just flat out wrong
