Any opinions of these? 141-114-138, supposedly a little stiff, cloud core, early taper, etc. Available in 179, 186, and 193. Anyone plan on buying?
Graphics are fire as usual with EP models.

it sounds sick. Few people have ridden them yet. This is the only review I know of: https://www.newschoolers.com/reviews/3947/kFbHV88Gw4ktkbSq.97

Glad you found that review in the review system that is what it is for.
To to add to the review I was super impressed by the skis. They were probably my favourite freeride twin I tried. They shred super hard but they are not a tough ski. They are so light which is somthing I really like and it's the new dreams for ski gear at the moment. I'm considering getting them as my resort big ski. So not a full on pow ski but a ski for inbounds pow and all mtn
Tom, can you compare a Mordecai to the Rocker2 108, Soul 7, or Volkl One? I've tried those, and what stood out was the 108 was super easy to pivot and slarve around, the Soul 7 was super light and a bit grippier, and the One was basically a narrower Hellbent. Going by width/weight/mounting point estimate alone, the Mordecai seems to fall inside a triangle of those 3.

Hey man. Compared to the rocker 108 it feels more like a fatter park ski. The rocker has a fair bit of rocker so has a short effective edge which restricts it's carving. The mordecai in comparison having early rise lets you use more of the ski and I found they carved in a more predictable manner, especially I cut up snow.
Compared to the soul they are much less directional and a little stiffer but certainly not overly stiff. shape wise they are closer to the super 7 and I thought they felt more fun but just as stable. . I really liked how hard you could throw the skis into things and even with the light weight they never felt unstable.
I have not not skied the one unfortunately but I really can recommend the mordecai. Supper light but stable at high speeds. Good float without excessive flappy rocker all while maintaining a good amount of playfulness.
I am thinking of buying those for a touring setup. what do you guys think?

They would be a pretty good choice if you wanted to your on a twin. You don't want something with top much rocker so these with the early rise would be good. They are crazy light too so stick something like a kingpin on them and you could have a super light yet still charger and fun setup.

This would be my use of choice I think. The thinner edge and base makes me a bit nervous to take them in the park (something I probably couldn't resist) if they were a daily-fatter-driver.
If I found some money like when the Rangers wins the cup this could absolutly be a ski I putting my dukes on.
anyone else skied these? looking for a touring ski just need to save a bit more money but sounds like this is what i'm after
Any opinions on sizing? Kind of stuck between the 179 and the 186.
I'm 5'7" 173lbs. Pretty agrressive skier.
I ski mostly trees, little bit of cliffs and some more open areas when the snows good.
Currently own a pair of 178 Rossi S3's (which I love) and a 183 Bent Chetlers. I'm not the biggest fan of my bent Chetlers because they're not a nimble or quick as id prefer for the type of skiing I do. I mostly ski lake Louise, kicking horse and revelstoke and not always in the freshest of conditions.
I'm looking for something a little more stable and wider than my s3's, for when the snow is heavy or for bigger cliffs/ features but not as bulky and slow in the trees as my bent Chetlers. I prefer to ski around and pop over crud then to just mash through it
I own them. 193cm with STH 16s. Great skis. I'm 185lb, 6'0". Work at Alta. They charge through skied up pow pretty well. Turn quick in tight trees for a 193cm. And obviously work great in untracked. I have owned the 193 Bent too. If the 183cm Bent feels like too much ski for you sometimes, then don't go with the 186 Mordecai. The Mordecai has a a little less rocker than the bent, more effective edge.
For the record. The production version of this ski has what line is calling "partly cloudy" core. Not the full on cloud core the sample skis had.
line top sheets are poos. if you get them, expect them to chip fuckin heaps.

^True statement. The ones I tried at the Snowbasin Demo days last year were a bit lighter and softer.
I can say one thing though, when mounting these skis I found out that they had the most solid core that I have seen. I mount literally hundreds of skis a season, these cores are tight. Had to tap the holes 4-5 turns just to get the screws in properly.

Still skiing stem christie style bro? Quit crossing your tips so much man. J/K sorry, I couldn't resist.
Just got a chance to ride mine for the weekend. I'm 5'7 125lbs. They we stable at speeds up to 60mph, carved better then I anticipated on groomers, and were playful in the 7" of fresh. I prefer them to the SFBs from last year as they are a touch stiffer.

That would be the Phenol mount plate that you're feeling in there. factions have the same thing!
im considering these 2016 mordecai`s for this winter, but dont know what length to choose.
im a fatass skier with 120kg BW and only 183cm og heigth
i feel comfortable on my salomon rocker2 108 in 190cm length but dont know what to choose for the mordecais :)
feeling the 190 might drag me down in the woods and tempted to go for the 186`s
sling me a pm if you have any inputs

I'm 170cm tall and and 58kgs - I ride the 179cm
If I was your size I'd go 190cm. They are surprisingly light for the length and width.
Such a fun ski. I highly recommend. I'm 6'3" and I ride the 193. Stiff enough to handle high speeds but can turn quick for the tight trees.
I'm 5'10" 176lbs, aggressive all mountain skier, with a touring setup in mind for the Mordecai's. what length should I go? Would 179 be too short?

186 all day - they are surprisingly light

thanks for the reply, but i tried them at a demo day and i found them not to my liking(felt soggy from edge to edge) so I fell in love with 16/17 SFB in 184 length so thats what I`m going to rock in the future, with kingpin13 on them :)

Can anyone elaborate on how they compare to the 14/15 bacons? That is my favorite ski ever and I'm considering replacing them with the mordecai. I am 5'11 145lbs, and I'm looking at the 186
My experience riding these is they are wonderful in soft snow but terrifying on hard pack. I felt that the tips are so soft and the core is so light, that when you weight the tips of the ski to turn, they tend to want to get squirrelly. On hard pack, it just felt the ski was so light it didnt respond quickly and felt mushy. Not a fan of the cloud core except on soft days
