Hope this isn't too stupid of a question but I'm about to buy a set of Armada Pipe Cleaners and get them mounted them with Head Mojo 15's. I'm reading on the Armada site that their recommended binding position is -5, and secondary mounting point is -2.5.
I'm struggling to decide where to get them mounted. I'm buying these primarily for riding halfpipe and park (getting ok at halfpipe but new to the park - this will be my first set of park specific skis) but will be cruising around the resort on them a fair bit. They don't need to perform in powder or anything I am keeping my Volkl Mantras for regular riding on days where I don't go to the park.
So the dumb questions are:
1) Wouldn't the factory recommended line on a park/pipe specific ski already be designed to perform best in that setting? I know people say dead centre or slightly back is best for park but seemed like that would be factored in already with these skis since they're so specialised in their purpose. But -5 sounds more like an all mountain mount.
2) Is there anything wrong with going between the two points, eg -3.5cm or are the specific recommended points recommended for a reason (ie one or the other). Is that the wusses option for people who can't make decisions like me?
Appreciate your help!
