Yesterday I skiied mid-thigh deep pow, in upstate NY, off the marked trail. First tracks, at 4:00 PM! I saw one or two other tracks in the woods, but they were old (snowed in)
The east coast is getting BLASTED! More snow on Sunday!

The shoe is officially on the other foot. Suck it West Coast.
And I'm just sitting here in Minneapolis with a half inch of snow on the ground...
srsly it just rains every year and as soon as i move away this shit happens. Like 70+cm fresh at my home mtn in fucking nova scotia. nova scotia. the england of canada. fuck
Everytime I see a winter weather advisory, I get a little snow boner.
Imma hit every little hill in town.
anyone remember the year we had three straight days of 70 degree weather in the middle of january? oh how the tables have turned
maybe try and start something to clean the west coast pollution up then because the reason the west has no snow is because of global warming and in fact the east is experiencing less effects of global warming so if you want snow try to make some changes in your lifestyle to help fix climate change every bit helps.

That sounds like my whole season so far
Mr.noodleYeah if only I had pow skis.....
Lol yea. Not many people own pow skis on the east coast
Little bit each day, but by Tuesday morning we'll see another foot-plus of fluff.
Get it before the reality of midwinter rain returns!
the year i go out west, this is unbelievable
Western New York Has gotten 150 inches so far in some areas. And probably more at our hills. It's been an incredible season thus far.
snow avoids me like the plague.
live east coast forever and never a good year, finally sack up and move west: snow moves east.
you're welcome east coast
enjoy it while it lasts, because you know it won't
unclestauffenjoy it while it lasts, because you know it won't
Lol really? I thought it was gonna be winter forever This time. DAMN!!
Meanwhile, Mount Baker closed today due to heavy rain and low coverage...

It blows my mind how incredibly wrong what you just said is.
*cgski*the year i go out west, this is unbelievable
Same, I dropped over a grand to ski at in utah for a week and came back to NY and the skiing is so much better here it's insane.
MiomoIt blows my mind how incredibly wrong what you just said is.
don't feed the guy who cant be helped
I'm from upstate NY too. What mountains do you ski at?
I'm def taking off on Monday to ski the incoming freshie.
PA has been pretty meh all season long. We get warnings for like 2+ feet of snow and wake up to half an inch on the ground.
MiomoIt blows my mind how incredibly wrong what you just said is.
Really? Then Tell me what other plausiable explanation their is, please, tell me. Because the reason the west is in such a large drought is because of climate change. Now this is no proven fact but it is highly supported. Climate change alters the jet stream which means more persipitation on the east and less on the west, resulting in the west coast drought, or in other words less snow for the west and more for the east. Don't believe me yet? http://www.climatecentral.org/gallery/graphics/climate-change-the-jet-stream And I'm not saying that it's the west coasts fault I'm saying that people just need to realize this now more than ever so we get more snow.
so jealous of you guys over there.
whistler is getting flooded. some of the lifts have probably 1-2 feet of water around them. warmest winter I have ever seen. I will post some pictures when I get home from work.
#fuckrain2015
im actually wondering if there will even be a summer glacier season cause last year was already pretty fucked by week 2
I'm on the west coast and we're scheduled for around a foot of fresh for tomorrow #ohcanada
GANDALFMeanwhile, Mount Baker closed today due to heavy rain and low coverage...
I guess it's true that it always rains at baker
LOL my friend just moved out to Park City and was saying the east coast sucks, who sucks now? West coast... not quite the best coast
We're getting pounded in the Albany/Saratoga area and points north tomorrow through Monday night, possibly 2 feet in total in some parts. I'm getting hyped for this storm rn.
We have a week of upper 50's and rain here in Southeast Idaho :(
When people say there's "no snow" do they actually mean there's none, or just not much? Also are there actually any resorts that can't/ aren't open due to the lack of snow?
skiing stratton sunday. they are getting another 18+ after getting 3ft this week alone! last sunday i was waist deep! cant wait to hit my secret stashes this weekend.
not me, but this is unreal for east coast mid season at stratton
North shore mountains in Vancouver, BC are having the worst winter since 95/96
Aw man now I feel bad for the west coast...
It really sucks you guys are having such a bad winter. Make the most of what you got!
TwinipzAw man now I feel bad for the west coast...It really sucks you guys are having such a bad winter. Make the most of what you got!
everything on a coast range is closing. Literally. there is no more season in most parts.
Windells is going to be forced to cancel most of their sessions, Whistler camps are going to cancel most of thier sessions.
It is PISSING rain for the next 3 days, it was PISSING rain for the past 3 days, and a ridge of high pressure thats on steroids is building in over the west coast starting Tuesday.
It is a full reset to early september conditions. And nothing will have a chance to change until atleast early march.
Its really, really bad. Washington is full on fucked because they don't have any infrastructure to protect against drought the way that CA does and both rely on snowpack.
Shit is really bad out here.
6+ feet of snow on little ol' PEI since January 26th. Two sick winters in a row for our tiny hill.
where i am its been in the 60's for the past 2 weeks and is forecast for at least one more. I don't mind it as much now though because i'm on crutches and can't ski this season.
my driveway looks like the fucking amazon river right now...will we get snow in march finally? or should i just buy that plane ticket and go shred sugarloaf in a few weeks? hmmm
J.KlotzI'm from upstate NY too. What mountains do you ski at?
Gore bro, on my way up right now
Karma! We finally get pow and the westies get nada! Sorry for sounding like a dick, but all I hear is that "You just have to go out west, the skiing is soooo much better." And now the east is getting pow and good skiing, and people are actually coming out here to ski. My prayers have been answered.
I haven't gotten a chance to get out skiing in it yet and probably wont until tuesday fuck me
Yeah it's amazing, It's supposed to snow every day for the next 10 days or so. I got blends this year and the woods at sugarbush has been fucking A1, best early february i've ever had in vermont.
its snowing right now in CT and isn't supposed to stop until Tuesday morning this is 5 days after we just got a foot of snow lol
just my fucking luck. i moved from ny to utah this winter and i've had one powder day this year. it was 52 degrees at park city yesterday and hasn't snowed any significant amount in almost a month.
i give up
its 80 degrees here in socal, if any one wants to truck some of that snow here id be happy to take it............
Mr.noodleGore bro, on my way up right now
MOUNT JORE! It's gonna be dumping a lot up there tomorrow for damn sure.
kryptonicmaybe try and start something to clean the west coast pollution up then because the reason the west has no snow is because of global warming and in fact the east is experiencing less effects of global warming so if you want snow try to make some changes in your lifestyle to help fix climate change every bit helps.
someones had too many vaccines as a child
Come on guys, Jiminy peak is a mountain too :( Well, a hill...
MinggWhen people say there's "no snow" do they actually mean there's none, or just not much? Also are there actually any resorts that can't/ aren't open due to the lack of snow?
Well my home resort snoqualmie is only open because they guarantee a 100 day season. There are rivers running through the middle of the runs and every hour or two an area of snow collapses and makes a giant sinkhole of snow.
Aaand we're getting 5-11" of rain this weekend
