looking to upgrade my camera...
What has better features and what would you consider the overall better camera for filming?
Whats your price range?
The GH3 obviously has way more capability
what camera or camera lenses did you have before?
WPochwhat camera or camera lenses did you have before?
I had a t3i and a canon ef s 55-250mm lens (and the stock lenses that came with the camera)
Also would the layout and everything be hard to get used too? If so would this be worth getting?

I would steer clear of the packages on ebay like that. Chances are most of the stuff is cheap, and you'll be unhappy with what you get.
On another note, the T5i is a great camera just in terms of how easy it is to use (its also less than 500 right now on ebay). I just picked one up and couldn't be happier. The gh3 is a little more expensive (most people buy a speedbooster as well, which can add $100-$300 depending on what you get), but I've seen some amazing footage come out of it.
1) Buy everything individually unless you've actually verified the integrity and quality of the package. I was able to buy a GH2 with an older 14-45mm Panasonic stock as opposed to the newer 14-42mm stock lens which is lower quality.
2) GH3. The T series is just gimmic after gimmic. With the GH3 you're getting a high quality and advanced DSLR for filming that is.

going from a t3i to a t5i isn't really an upgrade tbh.....What about the t3i is limiting you? just the 1080p 60fps?
Canon DSLRs are soo far behind when it comes to video. Even a GH2 would be a big upgrade from a t3i.
The t5i is a sham. literally identical to the t4i, and only an extremely marginal improvement over the t3i.

You say they're behind but then only use the T series as an example of their product...

Canon HDDSLRs are subpar compared to sony and panasonic. Even the 5dmk3 isn't that great.
I like how the new GoPro is a nicer camera than the current Canon tXi.

Because the OP is discussing upgrading from a "T series" camera to another "T series" camera.
Do a little research. For every Canon DSLR, there are equivalently priced (or cheaper) cameras from Panasonic, Sony, or Blackmagic that will blow it out of the water in terms of video IQ and features. The 5Diii actually sucks for video considering how expensive it is. IMO even the C100/C300/C500 aren't really impressive at all. Buying a Canon DSLR for video isn't the best move unless you happen to be heavily invested in their glass, in which case you're still probably better off just adapting it to another system.
Who cares though. They are obviously still capable of producing good footage. Theres just a lot of other cameras out there that can produce better footage for the same/lower price.
My budget is around $1300 I was going to look at getting some new lenses as well what would you guys recommend?
when in doubt, snapsort.com

Ok I understand that. I just don't think it's fair when people trash Canon over the T series. You're comparisons are valid though. I've just never had trouble with mine, but then again I haven't looked to upgrade my body in quite some time. I stand corrected. Took a look at the panasonic range.

The T series was great 6 years ago. It hasn't changed since then and everything else has changed.

You're probably better off than most of NS that just drools over gear all the time. You can make good edits with a t3i.

Adapting the glass is a sketchy choice because it'll likely soften your image and you won't get any AF if you shoot photos, which is a ridiculous drawback.
I had a T3i and didn't choose to switch over to a GH3 because I was heavily invested in glass and I shoot photos a lot, too. I was considering upgrading to either the GH3 or 4, but ended up going with the Canon 7D II because I needed something that would shoot 1080 60 but could also work as an excellent photography camera with which I didn't have to deal with swapping out my whole lens arsenal.

The problem I have with a proprietary lens system like Canon is that they're anchored to their stagnating camera bodies. There are benefits to closed-end systems (Apple), but not when you can't even make a DSLR that shoots proper 1080p yet...
