i got a pair of Abangs for my birthday and they are getting chipped on the edge of the topcoat when i am on the lift and they hit together, i see kids with older model Abangs and it looks like the topcoat edge is sanded down to prevent this, not sure if thats the way it used to be or if they just do it to protect their skis from this, i am thinking about doing this and i don't know if i should or not.

Simple solution:
1. Sell your A-bangs
2. Get some extra cash
3. Buy any ski that isn't the Line Afterbang

the sanded down look is from the same shit that's happening to your skis. I don't know how the new plastic top sheets differ but I wouldn't do anything unless it's a deep gash
