I have run into some trouble lately, I really want a new pair of skis this season and none of the ski shops around me carry the skis that I am looking for. I would have to travel about two hours to get them. I have always had this bad gut feeling about buying skis off of the internet and think I can get a better deal if I go to a shop, where I can argue for a better price. What do you guys think about buying skis online?
I don't see why not to buy online. You can find some damn good deals if you do some digging. Like I got my bindings for about 50% off retail. Just make sure you are buying from a reputable website like evo.com or thehouse.com
I mean I love supporting shops, but sometimes they just don't carry what you need/are looking for. Unless there is there is something comparable that your shop carries to what you want though, don't change your selection so you can go to your shop IMO.
I was looking for a pair of Tyrolia Peak bindings at my local shops, but couldn't find any, and I didn't want the new attack bindings. As much as I hated it, I great deal on a pair on thehouse.com and I'm happy

I heard the NSA intercepts your skis if you order them online and they install an anti-afterbang chip into them that renders your afterbangs completely useless..
Ask if your local shop can special order them if you know what you want. Chances are if it's available they'd love to do business with you.
