Hello ppl, I'm going to buy new skis this year, I just wanna know if 185cm ski will be too big for me or not? Im 5'11 (182cm) and my weight is 70kg. I ski mainly in park and sometimes bc.
Those might be a bit too long, depending on your skill. I'm 5'10" and I have 172cm skis. You may want to go down to 180cm since you'll be skiing bc.
That would probably be fine, but it depends on what sort of skiing you do. Telling us park and sometimes backcountry doesn't really tell us much. They are very different things and therefor you will want a different type of ski for each. I'm guessing by BC you mean more all mountain, because if skiing backcountry on park skis will suck and skiing park on backcountry skis will probably not be much fun either. But check out the line blends, or the shredditor 102s. Something with a little wider waist than a park ski would probably be good, and a little early rise makes both park and powder skiing more fun.
Also ski companies measure length in different ways, so a K2 185 could be different from a Surface 185, that being said 5cms doesn't make much of a difference for the average rider. And a symmetrical park ski always feels real short, so I keep that in mind, a ski with a lot of early rise also feels shorter to me too. I am 6ft and ski 179 ish park skis and in the past when I actually owned pow/all mountain skis I went a little longer, more around 189ish.
Hope this helps.
Personally I would have chosen a little shorter skis but I think you'll be fine. I've got exactly the same measures as you, and I'm skiing 176 Filthy Riches
Yeah Im looking forward to buy allmountain skis. Im thinking of Armada ARV's cause I found good price in one shop. I ride fast and agressive and I can say Im very good in piste skiing. I was in ski race club when I was young so I dont have any problem with handling.
