Lines are usually ~4cm shorter than advertised, so the 178 is really around 174. I think you should have gone with the 184, but it really depends on where you are skiing and how hard you want to charge. I'm 5'10 150lbs. and ride the 184 bacons, the 178 were not cutting it for me
If you can return them, I would recomend you to do it, as I am your height, and 165 lbs, and find the 185 size feel so playful, that I might have gone bigger. Rockered skis ski short. However, if you can't exchange them, just don't think about it, I am shure they will perform awesome in air and in tight trees etc.
Yeah I cant return them, bought them off someone on here last spring
I would say they're too short for you. I'm your size but 5'9" and have the 184's. As others have said, they ski shorter than they are labeled as due to the ski design.
Talked to someone at a ski shop today and asked him about what size i should be for the opus and he said 178s
should i listen to him Or should i sell these??
If he thinks a rockered 178 pow ski is fit for a 6 foot dude then he should not be a tech. You should be skiing the 185 opus.
bumpin this again sorry
how will these perform for me? Im stuck with them as my powder skis. Will they be way to short? Im only gonna use them on powder days so i wont be slaying groomers on these
Honestly, they may be a little short but i think its still possible to have a shit ton of fun on them.
I think so too
I feel like the only downsize will be stability at highspeeds but Honestly I don't care because I wont be needing to go super fast on these
Yeah so i basically for what your using them for they are perfectly fine.
i just bought some 178's as they were dirt cheap, i am 5,9 so hopefully should be all good.......
how are they working out for you?
not quite sure where to mount them though as theres nowhere near enough ski in front of me on Eric's line....

Oh yea, they'd definnately work. Honestly I rode a 160 when I should have been riding a 178 or so And it was the funnest thing ever ( it was my first year) but now that I've progressed I appreciate that longer length

That's because you should have gotten the 185s. I wouldn't ski them at any other point than Eric's mark (-2 from center)...that's where they're the most fun and were designed for.

no 185's or Magnums left. These were £180 so it would have been rude not to......
