Just curious. Think 5000 copies would sell?
Would the pages also work as rolling papers?
Only if it has photoshopped rage faces throughout

Only way I would buy it. I already know tanners story, because of Like A Lion. If it's not an autobiography, there is no new insight, and it would just be Like A Lion on paper. I enjoy Tanner because of his skiing, not because of his interesting life story. A movie was great because we could watch skiing, and learn about him at the same time.
WOULD THE ENTIRE BOOK BE WRITTEN IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS?
GnarcoWOULD THE ENTIRE BOOK BE WRITTEN IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS?
MY THOUGHTS EXACTY. BUT YES I WOULD PROBABLY BUY IT.
Would Tanner be more likely to hit that number than Mik D?
this
and i would rather learn about a different pro like Sammy C or adam delorme
Like a Lion - such a good movie. I suggest you all watch it.
I would buy it as long as it is a biography and not an autobiography. No offense to Tanner, but he isn't exactly great with words.
Awesome responses. thanks ya'll! It'd be written in proper case by a professional. Would Sammy C / Mik D / Delorme have the household name power / curious enough back-story to carry a full autobiography to a wide variety of readers? Does anyone in freeskiing?
Have you considered a book that was a compilation of biographies? Not everyone has the story Tanner does, but most could fill at least a lengthy chapter.

He says some pretty on point things.

That for sure would buy it.
I'd buy it and read the fuck out of it. I'd love to see more about the Pipe battles with Dumont. Like a lion was cool but you could go so much deeper with a book.
Only if if was an audio book, read by T-Hall in character.
Im sure plenty of people would buy it. After all, Tanner is a world class athlete.
I personally really liked his story about how he grew up. I really enjoyed watching “Like a Lion”.
His story was pretty inspiring as well.
Honestly, I used to view him as a trashy wannabe rasta black dude, but after watching that film, I have TONS of respect for him.

i started to laugh so hard in the middle of university lecture. stahp it pls. :D
how many copies did Like a Lion sell? /thread
Do this, but for Canadian Freeski history.

What about on the 'new canadian air force' in general?
I'd probably buy it because there would be a lot more detail I'm sure than what is it the film.
I would also like to read about the skiing he has done and his experiences in the last couple of years with the Provo bro's, earning his turns etc. I'd find that really interesting with some nice photos thrown in.

Sammy Carlson, girary didali, Adam Delorme, and Tanner hall is a good start.
I think a biography would be ill, someone who can write and present tanners life in a way that doesn't allow him to sit in front of a camera and ramble which drove kids crazy. I think a biography or autobiography of skier written by a skier with true talent in writing and skiing like Liam Downey would really be amazing to read the about their stand point and stuff that has happened to them through skiing. Many of wish to live the life of pro skier and life long ski bum so I think tanners story for example if put off until he was older would appeal to almost every one of us that contribute to this website.
LibertyBdubWould Tanner be more likely to hit that number than Mik D?
absolutely
immasGLENN PLAKE BOOK PLZ
would buy.
the thing with books is that you can now reach an audience outside of freeskiing.
I would buy his biography if it talked about his business ventures a lot more. Everyone knows his ski story...but to hear about Armada, Retallack would be pretty cool
If someone could read it to me that would be helpful.
What about and online web series. Much like VICE's, Epicly Later'd sereis profiling influential and legendary skateboarders. I think that would provide an in depth look at some great skiers.
Thats the type of content that Newschoolers or Freeskier should be putting out. High Quality stuff.
Example
only if 2/3 of the book was about chads gap. i want an immersive experience of him shattering his ankles.

Was it really though? I just saw a story about a guy who grew up with pretty much whatever he wanted, constantly disregarded that, and made the same mistakes over and over, and is still relevant because he's talented and loud. As much as I love watching his skiing, his life story isn't all that inspiring whatsoever.

i don't think tanner's story is inspiring because of his upbringing or whatever-- i agree that that part is whatever. it's inspiring because he was the absolute best park skier for years, culminating in one of the gnarliest successful tricks AND one of the gnarliest crashes ever. then he came back from that insane injury and crushed pipe, and then he had another insane injury, and came back from that to continue killing it in BC stuff, all the while being told he can't ski real shit. remember how much flak he got when he first started doing big mtn stuff? also keep in mind that in the middle of this whole story he lost CR to the same gnarly skiing he was constantly pushing himself back into
the dude is sorta retarded sometimes and he's a real character but he has remained near the top of skiing for more than a decade and that is UNREAL. easily comparable to jordan's story in terms of athletic prowess and determination
i also agree with you about the book being uninteresting tho, what with 'like a lion' already being around. the visuals were necessary to tell that story
