So walking around campus I have seen a few rails that would be sweet spots for urban. Only issue is they are on the college campus i attend so I was wondering if that could have some negative effects on me if i get caught?
In the same situation, I'm thinkin 3 am missions
Yea would be at night for sure i just don't want to get kicked out or something for hitting urban.
It all depends on the type of college and how strict they would be about it. If the campus police are nice or not. If all else fails, talk to some administration pulling the "it's for film class" excuse.
Never actually seen any of the campus police so couldn't say if they are nice or not. It is a state college.
At montana state they just make sure you're not skiing drunk or destroying shit. Never heard of anyone getting expelled from school for skiing. Worst I heard was a kid got his skis confiscated for skiing in the road. almost got charged with reckless endangerment. Don't hit any cars.
Wallisch hit a down-c-down at his college. You can do it if the pretzel man can.
whatever you do, don't tell them that you attend the school
Definitely don't go asking around about them. Just do it. Assume that it's sketchy so try not to get caught, do it at the right time and try and be quick.
It will be way easier to say "Oh I had no idea you couldn't grind those things here" than to ask. The chances of a college telling you it's cool to grind rails down stairsets is pretty damn unlikely. That's a pretty big liability.
It all depends on the campus and the campus pd. But just do it

Yea I was not going to ask for permission the one spot I wanted to hit was a C rail right by the dorms so thinking that is probably out as an option. The other is off the backside of the basketball stadium which is in a really dark/secluded spot thinking that may work although the 20ish foot drop off the one side of the rail is a bit sketchy but would be kinda cool for a wall ride.

Do the c rail. Why is it out? IF your campus gets snow and you want to hit it fucking send it son. Do it for everyone in the internet.
It is right in front of the dorms where there are always people. I would still really like to hit it just seems like a huge chance of getting caught.

Who cares just do it. If there are stairs, help drunk bitches over the takeoff. "People" doesn't mean you're going to get in trouble. Maybe they'll drink beers and watch. Just wear different gear if you're that scared and run away if the campus pd comes. Start a riot if needed and use the chaos to get to a safe place.
Seriously just do it.
You should be good, I hit a rail at keystone employee housing and we were there from 11pm to 4am no problem. Keystone security drove past people were drinking, smoking and running lights out windows, keep in mind supposedly the worst county to hit urban in america . Thats the closest to a dorm setting Ive been to while hitting something and the session lasted until we were done. And in those settings young people just try to start helping out because they want to see some crazy ass kid slid down a handrail next to concrete.
It's easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission. Do it op
Colleges don't care in my experience. We hit a ton of spots on campus the last two years and ended up getting filmed by the college for an admissions video and the plows would help us build shit. You should be pretty good unless they're ass holes.
From my experiences you usually just get a trespassing warning. The school police will give you a ticket that basically says if you do something like this again you'll be in trouble. I never took it too seriously. Also go at like 2 or 3 am and on holiday breaks when there isn't likely to be many people around. You might be home for thanksgiving and x mas but those are probably the two single best days to hit street features in high bust areas.

I'm at umass amherst and there are a ridiculous amount of urban opportunities here, hope campus police don't mind
In Boulder they just make sure you aren't drunk, aren't messing up campus, and have a helmet on.
But it is boulder, so..
There really should be a ski dedicated college. Like seriously. A place where skiiers can get an education and still have time for skiing. And you can get scholarships. That would be sick. And since its a skiing college you do all the urban you want.
I wonder what the rules are for reno because there's some super good spots. I'm definitely down for a 3am run and a quick edit...

A class I took at UVM had a project where we were supposed to redesign a public space on campus that could have multi uses. I redesigned one of the spaces between the dorms to be terraced with ledges and rails that would be good for pedestrian traffic as well as skiing and snowboarding. The teacher loved the idea. Obviously it would take a lot more to get something like that actually approved and built. But I think with the rise in skate plazas would could potentially see parks being built into the surroundings for ski and snowboard use.

Westminster in utah. They are really good with working around skiers schedules. My buddy who goes there gets to ski every day. It's basically a ski college, dude. Oh and anyone who is on, or was on the US ski or snowboard team
Automatically gets in free.

Did not know that man. Was looking at Westminster but didn't realize they liked the skiiers that much.
I hit an epic dfd at my school and ended up snapping both of my wrists by the end of the night. I had been hitting stuff around campus for weeks, ended up using the security truck as a tow in around 2am on a tuesday night. I never got in trouble until I got hurt. They ended up changing the policy after I got hurt. You can now get in serious trouble at my school for reckless endangerment if anyone is found sliding on railings around campus.

Champlain Colleges new quad has a ledge built for skateboarding specifically and then it also has like 5 new rails that im pretty sure they will have no problem letting kids hit.
I've been "caught" a few times, once they told us to leave, they other time the cops took pictures and chilled with us.
We hit urban on the UW campus all the time and never have had a problem. The campus police/police actually stop to watch once in a while and they have never said anything bad. All depends on the school I guess
It really depends on the school, here it was best to do it either during a big snow storm in the day or really late at night (3am). The only time I got busted last year out of quite a few sessions was a friday night around 7PM they broke up a jump gap session. They told us to break down the jump and pack up, but we weren't hitting rails; I've heard they get more upset about hitting rails because you are technically "destroying property". So essentially just be quiet and respectful and find the right times to hit spots and you should be okay.

So a place where you pay too much to go to college for skiing? Sounds like a good investment.
Just go to a college that meets your budget/education needs and is near decent skiing. If you want to hit urban just do it.

I live like 10 minutes away from umass, soo much opportunity there, I have experienced campus police being dicks skating there, idk how they will be about skiing
At Washington State they were confused what we were doing starred at us and drove away.
