Why is it now that anytime somebody writes skis it is a link to skis.com
Even in your sig the word "skis" turns blue and links lol
Probably a deal they made with skis.com
I walked into The house and picked up my skis. The i drove to my mountain in my Evo
just noticed it a second ago. I'm glad I'm not the only one i thought i got a virus or something
Hah - the other thread on affiliate marketing led me to experiment with an old system we used to use.
Love it?
Don't give a fuck?
Hate it?

I don't know why but I kind of like it
Make it go to particular ski company sites ie armada on3p etc. That would be the best for making them money, as people could be in a thread about "are ON3P the most durable of all time?"
And if the conclusion is reached that indeed ON3P are indeed the most durable, one would just need to click on the ON3P to go to their site.

Make them pay for it. I just don't like it because it's like free advertising.

Absolutely despise it. Two reasons: 1. it reminds me of something similar that really shitty websites do (you know the ones I mean); 2. none of the links are relevant to those who live outside North America.

Reason 3: see rybak's post (I think it's 24th down): https://www.newschoolers.com/forum/thread/631109/Post-whats-on-your-mind?page=742
the injection looks incredibly tacky unless you're talking about what is linked

Incorrect. NS will receive payment every time a "click-through" happens.
Seems to me that Newschoolers is selling out. I'm not saying that the site couldn't use some cash flow, but the sellout very present. Every time you watch a video there is always a Toyota add that comes on, it's never small "skier" companies anymore, just the same fucking Toyota add every time. The other big thing I noticed was the topic of this thread pertaining to the word skis and its link to skis.com among other random "link ads". Just trying something out? I think not. If Newschoolers is "selling out", I would at least like to see the money going back into the site, that's all.

personally, I have yet to see any Toyota ad, despite everyone complaining about it
JahLiampersonally, I have yet to see any Toyota ad, despite everyone complaining about it
it's because you're in canada haha.
The more interaction I have with the links, the more upset I become with them. :(
Clicking the user NS.com leads you to this site.
also idunno, I'm not a fan of it but then again I don't really mind it at all and nothing's really changed for me haha

Dude, we sold out a long time ago.
The money actually does get re-invested back into the site. Sure there's a big scary corporation that owns it all, but the more we raise the more we get to put back in. That is what powers all of the content producer programs, etc.
Anyway, we've had this up before and I wanted to see how the results were vs. the reaction. Yes, its cheesy but its extra revenue. Give it another week or two and I'll actually be able to see if the revenue from it is at all worth it.
The idea of having relevant ski companies be able to pay for links to their name is a good idea...
