4bi9 and level 1 are the two biggest filming companies in skiing (based on the number/quality of athletes they have) and they have now both dropped the trailers for their new movies. Which do you think looks better and which company do you like more in general?
I am going to say burn looks better but both movies look sick
Where do you get that these are the two biggest filming companies? Why does it matter which is better? These are the real questions. They both look like good films. Just leave it at that until we can make an educated response to the movies
Unfortunately biggest does not equal best when it comes to ski videos. I truly hope that someday 4Bi9 and Level 1 will become the biggest ski film companies. They both look better that the Warren Miller movie which I hear is the actual biggest ski film company.

Lol not for freestyle skiing homie. Try again.
they both make dope movies but i like the less trailer better
I have owned both 4bi9 movies and level 1 movies and i like 4bi9 movies better but level1 puts up a hell of a fight. It all depends on what you like really.

A lot of them are the same riders soooo why are you comparing them?
I think steve stepps film company stept is the best
-Parks-Lol not for freestyle skiing homie. Try again.
Lol op just said biggest in skiing, not freestyle skiing homie. Try again.

Good thing I wasn't responding to OP. When you look at a company like Warren Miller and try to compare it to 4bi9, I don't see how you can really do that. They are very different markets that deal with a different audience. So when we are focussing on the freestyle movie market; no, warren miller still doesn't hold any water to the others. But thanks for chiming in!
talking about big production companies and leaving field productions out? pffff..
kalle.talking about big production companies and leaving field productions out? pffff..
Who was talking about big mountain film companies? Because I'm sure that if that was the topic nobody would have left FP out.
They are two film companies with totally different goals as a business...open your eyes OP.
I like both companies' movies and I usually like 4bi9's more, but I really liked the vibes in the less trailer.
Also its not really fair to say that level 1 and 4bi9 are the two biggest/best when you have other companies like stept and inspired.
Why does it have to be one or the other? Level 1 is certainly more established and thus has more resources available to them than 4bi9, but that doesn't change the fact that both are going to be incredible films in their own right. Not to mention that several of the skiers will appear in both films.
Just buy both and don't be a stooge.
Whats kinda funny/sad is that not one person has mentioned PBP...
Are they done? I know they have a 20 year movie coming out but what is the overall perception of them these days?

I haven't thoroughly enjoyed a PBP movie since Decesare stopped directing. Bits and pieces here and there, but nothing more.

Or TGR, MSP, or Sherpa Cinema. All three of which attract more of an audience than 4bi9, and some Level 1. This is just a stupid thread. Everyone has their own preferences for ski movies. It is too difficult to compare.

I think he was talking about park/urban/BC jump movies not SKIING movies. But I think you can kinda compare Level 1 and 4bi9 these days.
Both look great! I always buy both because its guaranteed great entertainment!

You're probably right. I guess PBP fits somewhere in the middle between those two categories. Most shots are freestyle oriented, but then they have scene like last year where the document ski touring in the Alps.

TGR bores me actually. They have some urban at the beginning of the movie, and then it just ends up being endless pow segments. May be entertaining to some, but I think its boring as hell.

The guy you quoted didnt say anything about freestlye either.... but good attempt at making for original post seem relevant
If we're comparing similar movie companies then I would say Level 1, 4bi9, and Stept are all in the similar category. And if you're trying to decide which is the best out of that category I don't know how you can forget about Stept. All three are great, I say just don't leave a major one out
I think level 1 reaches a broader audience, as they film more big mountain and I think generally their movies have a better reputation. 4bi9 puts out a lot of edits, though, which is nice for a ns'r

That's speaking to my point about how it is all a matter of preference. I look forward to TGR movies more than any others each fall. I guess I prefer endless pow shots to urban, and that seems to not be the case for you. That's what makes skiing beautiful.

Yea because rails totally don't get boring...

is this the part where i make a condescending remark? sorry, not paying attention

How is it you haven't been in a L1 film yet?

This is such an ignorant thing to say...neither are even close to the biggest ski film companies. For urban skiing they are arguably the best (stept too) but they're not even close to being the "biggest".
-Parks-sorry, not paying attention
That was pretty obvious based on the content of your other posts
