After watching Clayton's career reflection he has it all. Style, tech, park, pipe, comps, urban, filmmaking, editing, shoveling and he has been on top of all of it throughout his career. He has put in so much work and now he is coming out with his own project. His mutiny segment is legendary and he has so much more ahead of him.
Tom is just a better skier all around and is entirely different then Clayton. But clayton's stlye and overall attitude makes him way sicker and more appealing
Fuck Clayton kills it, but Tom is just so good over all. It's really hard to say who's "better" since they both are kinda doing their own thing and they're both absolutely destroying it.
smooterclayton is good and all but he cant touch wallisch
They are different skiers. Clayton goes for the unique, creative, high risk high reward stuff. Tom is all about technicality, perfection, cleanliness. Clayton's style is intentionally more flowy and free and toms is intentionally more tight and clean. Even the way they ski urban is totally different. Tom is getting older and he knows that. Watch the wallisch project and tell me how many of his hits we're super high impact bomb drops and compare that to Clayton's past few segments where everything is high speed and high octane.
They are different and hard to compare. Personally I like to watch Clayton ski more. Bring back to "I feel ghood" Tom and then we have a style contest on our hands.
but as far as always staying thirsty in the streets. definitely clayton
wallisch's sponsors set him up to be in the comp scene. if wallisch only gave a fuck about murdering the streets, he could have avoided all that olympic distress of not being healthy enough to make the cut as a result of getting fucked up while skiing around new zealand with his gopro
it is very unlikely that we'll ever see clayton getting wrecked with a gopro pov doing dub10s in new zealand
clayton currently takes the win because he knows where his focus is and isn't getting distracted with competing and the associated risks/ jock mentality/ robotic formula chucking massive tricks run after run after run
mad respect to everyone out there doing their thing but overall best newschool skier... ever
You can't really say who is the best newschool skier ever, it all comes down to opinion. One might think Clayton is, and someone else might think Wallisch is. Neither of them are wrong. I personally think Casabon is, but this is all opinion
He's one of the best but it's impossible to choose just one IMO. I'd say MchChesney and Wallisch are at a similar level than Clayton, but it's up to you to see wich one you prefer.
Are you talking about right now or ever? Because dudes like T Hall, CR, Shane McConkey, SethMo and Chrichton were all more ahead of their time when they were in their prime than wallisch or vila are right now (although I am huge fans of both)
Wallisch changed the face of freeskiing. Once that 4bi9 edit dropped it changed the way people looked at and hit rails. Sure it was mostly park rails but that was 7 or 8 years ago.
Clayton is killing it and some of that stuff is ridiculous but I feel like comparing them now doesn't do it justice. In a sport progressing as fast as this you can't really compare the people with that much of a gap in time.
Idk. It's a sport where people make their mark as they go, and the people after have that mark to follow. Some people stay within the limits, some people push it slightly, and some people take it to another level. I feel like they're both in that realm but I just feel like it would be a crime to ignore the impact of walisch.
