i'm looking at getting the new punx and wondering what they're like for carving. i have the 2013 ones with the old side cut in 182 which are pretty good for that but not so much at tight turns. you can get them in 176 now so would i still be able to do proper turns or is the ski too straight for that? thanks
I used these for a few days in 176 and I thought they carved pretty nice. I was a Breck using these so for the wider slopes there I thought it was fine, I really liked these skis. However I live in NJ and trails aren't even half as wide as stuff in breck so I wish there was stuff with a bit more turning radius or softer. I'm still considering buying a pair of these though. I thought they were fast too, but coming off of skis that are like 6 years old and extruded with fake snow makes me unsure.
Aren't the punx meant for park. Why not get a pair of carving skis if you more concentrated on carving. They are pretty cheap because no one uses them that much

You still need to carve in the park. Just because they are a park ski does not mean people are not interested in how th skis actually perform. And some park skis are some of the best carvers too. Try some suspects in a herd pack slope and you will have such a goo time.
Op. They carve well. Better suited to mid turns then super short. The narrow waist makes them super fast edge to edge and the mid flex means they can handle some speed and not just buckle. Overall they are a great ski, not a soft jib stick but if you actually like to ski and ski hard you will love them.
