I'm looking for a pair of new skis for the upcoming season. A little about me: live on the east coast, ski sunday river every weekend. I'm 16, 5'8 and 150 pounds. I skis 70% park and 30% all mountain and trees. In the park, I'm mostly hitting rails. I'm looking for a light, DURABLE ski that is mid-soft flex. Some skis I was thinking of: soul riders, da Nollies, halo 2s, fatypus l toros and filthy riches. I'm mostly interested in the filthy riches and how they will float on the occasional powder and some trips I will be taking this winter.
The FRs will float better than most park skis because they have a lot of rocker, but they are still very skinny and won't take to powder extremely well.
You may wanna also check out the Jmos... They're pretty wide but I've heard people rave about them in the park and they'll float a lot better than the fr's :)
soul riders are wider than the average park ski, not sure if they are very light but they do look sick
Anyone know anything about the l toros and where I could still get them.
Aim for a mid fat ski park ski, the answer is that any near centre mounted ski under say 95 underfoot is pretty awful in deep snow. Go fo around 97-102 underfoot, pretty much every brand makes one these days and they are all relatively soft. Off the top of my head, Line Blend and K2 Shreditor 102 are the complete noodles, Al Dente, Soul Rider and L-Toro are mid soft and Candide 2.0s / J-Mos are medium flex.
get the al dente. its like 100 underfoot and has madd rocker but also shreds park.
Could anyone tell me about the shreditor 102. I found them on evo for a pretty good price. Are they durable, relatively light and good for park. Also I'm 5 8 so would the 179 be good for me.

You would actually be surprised..... We had a day at hood that was about a 2 feet of untouched in the back country. My buddy who rides the FRs was able to rip through it like no other.... But once again its also the riders ability that plays a major role
for 70% park, mostly rails, I think a 179 shreditor will be too big. K2 skis are always a little longer than the stated length so they will be more like 182cm long. If you're a really good park skier, you could probably handle it, but i'm the same size as you and wouldn't risk it.
If you're looking for a bargain, this might be it (174s), I haven't skied them but I've heard good things:
