Long time snowboarder here, but Ive always loved watching ski videos, and well skiing. In my backyard I set up 1 rail and in the summer was able to learn 270's off the rail. On the other hand, I have been snowboarding for like 10 years now and still struggles to not only land 3's and 5's, but also on rails. I cant seem to spin onto of off rails more than a 180, Ill occasionally land the 270 on a box and 270 off. So basically what Im asking is what do you think is easier to learn tricks on, snowboard or ski's? Ive been toying with the idea to switch lately but I cant really commit to it because Ive invested so much time into snowboards. So what do you guys think?
For rails, skiing. We can control our feet and use our edges to make us spin
At first rails for snowboards. Its really simple to boardslide but once you figure out how to scissor a rail on skis its much simpler to switch up and 270 out.
Jumps and charging really hard scare the shit out of me on a board. I like having two edges in case on edge messes up you can try to recover with the other edge. No second chances on a snowboard ever.
dude, i snowboard for 5 years and park for 3 years and couldnt 360 on jump and sometimes land some boardslide than I switch to ski this year and it was sooooooooooo worth it. I skied like 9 times this season and I learned 1s,3s,5s,270s off. Skiing is just to fun. switch to ski I promess you wont regret it.
