Anyone familiar with this watch? I'm planning on getting a new one for canoe tripping this summer, something that has a compass, altimeter, barometer. Let me know if you guys have any experience with it! Thanks.
Haven't used that watch, but the Suunto Core I got as a gift is pretty sweet. The thermometer is pretty worthless as it almost always shows about 80 degrees one my warm wrist, but the other features are fairly accurate and I actually use the compass all the time. I thought it was just a neat gift idea, but I'm surprised how often I use the features.

As with any ABC watch, you need to take the unit off your person and let it sit 5-10 minutes before the thermometer will be close to accurate. Otherwise, you are just measuring the heated air coming off your wrist.
Same as you need to adjust the altimeter prior to an excursion to ensure you are getting somewhat accurate readings. You can still track elevation gains and losses without calibration, but if you want better results, you need to calibrate at a known elevation.
Instead of a Suunto, I went with a Casio Pathfinder. The idea of having the sun recharge my watch instead of a changing a battery every few months was a huge factor in my decision.
worn a vector for a few years until i broke the strap and lost it at sea :/
great watch but if id ever buy something similar again id go for a watch wth heartrate monitor+pc read out
however nowadays im more going for 'less is more' and prefer a very sleek and simple watch above an expensive bulky watch like a vector but thats just me nowadays :)
i got one of those once and it sucked it was always wrong and you had to take it off for minutes for it to get correct readings
I have the vector and the core. The vector is alittle harder to use out of the 2, I would spend the extra $100 on the core. Other than ease of use the watch is great and very accurate
