Does anyone know how to take raichle flexon tongues off? I've seen raichles with full tilt tongues but i just can't seem to take mine off without breaking the boot (it looks like its hooked in). Also i am trying to paint it and can't seen to take anything off of it. There is a screw on one side of the boot but the other side is hooked in. Anybody know?
unfortunately on those old raichle's the metal rectangle attaching the tongue to the boot is very brittle since it's so old so be careful when trying this, but usually you can just take a pair of pliers and pry the two prongs apart until it just slides out of the holes on the boot. On yours it might break, but if you're switching tongues out anyway you might as well. If you need this piece, check with a full tilt dealer to see if they have any extra they could give you (doubtful though, it's the one little piece full tilt doesn't sell to shops in the parts boxes, at least not at the shop I work at but we have every single full tilt piece that we're aware of to purchase).
^ yep they should fit fine. Are you planning on skiing this boots though or usin them as spares? If you plan on ridin them just be aware ok. Plastic like that will start to break down. Hopefully you will be fine but old boots like that can have a tendency of shattering without any warning. So just be carefull if you see any sign of wear or damage.
I did the same thing as you. Bought a pair of old Raichles for summer skiing and to have spare parts. I put out the tounge on the Raichles and threw them on my FTs just to check them out and i found out I liked the harder flex of the Raichle tongues more so i left them on my Full Tilts. As long as they are about the same size (tongues fit for more sizes f.e. 28-29.5) you should not have a problem.
To take out the tongues get a flat head screwdriver and try bending out the metal parts at the bottom of the tongue. Be careful so you dont fuck them up, but usually Raichles are solid boots and you cant really do any damage.
Get your flat head screwdriver (you might need a slim one) and slip it in between the metal part and the plastic part its connected to and slowly try pushing out the metal part. If you can push out one the other one is easy!
