Post reasons for not wanting to live in or near Seattle and I will shoot them down because Seattle is fucking awesome and everyone should be jealous of the people that live there.
I saw this coming. But Seattle is also pretty clean for a big city and has lots of parks. Seattle is very rad.
Traffic. Overpriced food. Depression. Too close to Canada
hoodratz47Traffic. Overpriced food. Depression. Too close to Canada
I-5 is the only road with traffic ever. And that's only when there is an accident or road work. Rush hour is generally not even very bad, nothing compared to LA traffic or something.
And ya perhaps living IN Seattle wouldn't be as awesome because living in a big city is just not for a lot of people... But all of the surrounding bedroom communities in Western Wa are wonderful. Especially as you get closer to the mountains.
And I count being close to Canada as a plus but okay I see you.
And food isn't really overpriced? It's the same as everywhere else haha. Plus we have Dick's Burgers which are like a dollar each and are delicious.
i have spent a lot of time in the seattle greyhound station. that area sucks.
and one my family went to see harry potter at the imax and when we were leaving, it was getting dark and i had run off to do some parkour in the the park and saw a few tweakers start to follow my family who were unaware. this is back in highschool and im in the tanner hall wannabe gangster phase, so im in 3xl black hoody/sweats. they didnt know i was there, and neither did my family know they were there and to diffuse the situation without anyone getting hurt, i sprinted half way between them and my family while doing my best karate kid impression with the fancy kicks and yells and then stood on one leg with my arms up like in the movies and started doing howler monkey calls(i have no idea why) and then sprinted off into the shadows in the other direction still making monkey sounds. the tweakers all stopped dead in their tracks and got super bug eyed and had no idea what they just saw but it gave my family enough time to make it to the car.
i dont hate Seattle, but i dont think it is this nations greatest city. definitely not jealous of the people living there. i mean shit how far is the nearest ski hill?
"Seattle ranks in the top 5 nationally 226 cloudy days per year behind Anchorage, Forks, Astoria and Olympia. It's in the top 20 with 140 days of measurable rain."
Not the worst in the states, but that is quite rough. I would rather live there than other places in the US tho.

Since you have referenced the "Seattle metro area" instead of just Seattle city limits, I think it's fair to add that traffic on I405 and I90 are fucking terrible as well. The greater metro area has some of the consistently worst traffic I have personally experienced.
Calb3rti mean shit how far is the nearest ski hill?
Closest from downtown Seattle would be Snoqualmie Pass at about an hour away depending on traffic and road conditions.
Because smelly hipsters live there and apparently you live there too. Those are the reasons I hate Seattle.
*DISCLAIMER I KNOW THE SEATTLE METRO AREA IS NOT THE BEST CITY FOR EVERYONE IT WAS A BIT OF HYPERBOLE*
But really? I never thought the traffic on the interstates was that bad compared to other really big cities. And yeah the constant overcast weather and rain can definitely be a detriment... But with that comes insanely lush temperate rainforests and a beatiful summer! I would highly suggest getting farther west in to the smaller towns near the mountains like Enumclaw, North Bend, etc.. in the summertime, as well as hiking in Mt. Rainier National Park and/or the Olympic National Forest.

Try driving I405 from Southcenter to Bellevue during rush hour sometime. I fucking hate I405 and stay as far away from it as possible. Same goes for I5 except when I am actually forced to drive on it.
I am on the Eastside, in the North Bend area and have been happily living out here for the past 6 years or so. Way less traffic and more outdoors activities in a closer proximity than living in Seattle proper. Don't get me wrong, Seattle is a cool place to explore, but I personally could not live in the city.
You only have one good sports team.
It rains a lot.
Hipsters.
.MASSHOLE.You only have one good sports team.It rains a lot.
Hipsters.
Actually we have a few... The Seattle Thunderbirds semi-pro hockey team is always pretty solid, and our WNBA team wrecks shit (lol womens b ball I know)
But ya it rains a lot and there is a decent hipster population so that's kinda meh. Also there is a really big Asian population which is really cool from a cultural aspect because we have a sick Chinatown but also kinda shitty because there are Asians everywhere.
And okay I feel ya having to take the interstate every day. I live in Enumclaw and only mob up to Seattle proper if there is something I want to see/buy/do and usually avoid it at rush hour.
.MASSHOLE.You only have one good sports team.
They aren't even that good.
Thizzle.I live in Enumclaw and only mob up to Seattle proper if there is something I want to see/buy/do and usually avoid it at rush hour.
Exactly. I hate having to plan around traffic to get into the city, it definitely fucks with plans sometimes. I have a good friend that lives up near Northgate; in no traffic it takes me about 40 minutes or so from my place, in "average" Seattle traffic it's around 2 hours each way. Fuck that.
Also, whoever came up with the highway planning around here needs to be fired. Some of the worst designs imaginable. It's almost like they wanted to induce miles of stop and go traffic several times a day.
Walter.1337They aren't even that good.
You're lucky I'm not one of the thousands of rabid bandwagon Seahawks fans that spawned this year or I'd probably trace your IP and rape your family but I mean I'm just an avg Seahawks hometown supporter so I personally don't give a shit.

I enjoy your honesty. You might be the one Seahawks fan I like.
gRAPEFRUITI enjoy your honesty. You might be the one Seahawks fan I like.
I fucking hate all the bandwagon fans that went out and bought $200 worth of Hawks gear and a 12th man flag once we made the fucking playoffs. Shit was ridiculous. Got mad respect for the real 12th men though who have been sticking it out the last few years and waiting for their chance. I have never really liked/disliked the Seahawks, but have always supported them as the home team, so it's not like I like them or support them any more/less when they win a Superbowl.
And @Walter1337, from a purely football standpoint (which im assuming I know much more about than you in a non demeaning way I have just played/been around it my whole life) the Seahawks were incredible this year. One of the best defenses in NFL history if not the best for a singe season. And all around the Hawks were an incredibly sound team.
Walter.1337They aren't even that good.
People need to check their meter if they think he is serious...
(I hope)

Another reason seattle sucks... it produces idiots like this
suck my dick,. the murder mitten makes that place like a shanty town.
the current home of one of the worlds greatest sport franchises of all time
you can thank us for providing the world with little ceasars,
do you guys have giant tires? didn't think so, bud.

I dont know, you can hate it all you want, but I feel Wilson is more of a game manager than a "put the team on your back" type QB.
He benefits greatly from not having to put up alot of points and having an outstanding RB behind him who won't be there forever. Don't get me wrong, I think if they draft a heir to Lynch, with the same style, they can run that same RB heavy system for another 7-8 years, which would be fine.
If the game was on the line with one drive left I'd rather have ____ under Center
T. Brady
B. Rapelesberger
A. Luck
P. Manning
P. Rivers
E. Manning
N. Foles
J. Cutler
M. Stafford
A. Rodgers
M. Ryan
D. Brees
C. Newton
All over Wilson. Eventually Lynch is going to get injured, and when the game falls on Russell's shoulders I wouldn't trust him.

What about my post was idiotic?
To many tweakers and thugs in seattle, don't feel safe there.
The treatment of addicts and dealers in seattle should be a model for the rest of the country
TheBigAppleTo many tweakers and thugs in seattle, don't feel safe there.
You must have never been in a big city lol...
It's a lot nicer in most areas than like NYC or LA, but just like every major urban area it has low income areas that you would do well to stay away from after dark.
Thizzle.I-5 is the only road with traffic ever. And that's only when there is an accident or road work. Rush hour is generally not even very bad, nothing compared to LA traffic
Ha.... It's fuckin bad dude.

Yeah I feel you, but I feel that as Marshawn declines, Russell will be reaching his prime. You gotta remember that this was only his second season. I think that as he progresses he will improve in that area to where his team can rely on him for the game winning drive and he definitely could get to the point of being one of those top-tier quarterbacks.
The referenced post has been removed.
You're dumb. If you really want to get in to this all I said was you should stay away from low-income areas at night. You are the one insinuating those areas are where African American's live so you are the racist one in this situation.
Bellingham is hte best sub 100k city in America, Seattle is the best 300,000+.
207Classic Seattle ^
whats the problem

*stereotypical Seattle.
When in fact people like that are a very small portion of the population and really only live in a few select neighborhoods in Seattle. But oh man were they out in force at Folk Life last weekend...
I was gonna say Boston; mountains, ocean, city. But you have all that, so I can only refer to our better sports teams. Honestly I like Seattle so I have nothing against this thread. Hopefully one day I'll make it out there.
LucasWhat about my post was idiotic?
The fact that you couldn't recognize his blatant sarcasm
Granite_StateI can only refer to our better sports teams.
Who won the superbowl again?
Lord_ByronWho won the superbowl again?
Man give it a rest Seattle... don't get me wrong I'm hyped we won the bowl and all but that doesn't automatically mean we are a better sports city than anyone. I have always been and will remain a die hard Patriots fan even though I've never been to New England and they had a fuckin dynasty and are still consistently a good team. Along with the Red Sox having a pretty solid team and epic few years. Can't lie, Boston is a better sports city but other than that we've got it all.
Thizzle.trust me, the falls are the only nice thing in snoqualmie. the rest is kind of a shithole (i live there)
Lord_ByronWho won the superbowl again?
Like Thizzle said, we are still a better football team and still have a better baseball, hockey, and soccer team than you as well. But I wont hate cause like I said, Seattle is awesome. Plus your hip-hop is second to none.
How's your basketball team?
How's the beach?
How do you like the rain?
There's a reason Southern California living is so expensive

I'm actually so incredibly disappointed in myself for not posting one picture representing Seattle Hip-Hop when there could be a whole thread dedicated to it.. :(
I'll just post a couple good ones
Lord_ByronWho won the superbowl again?
Oh god this dipshit again.

Well Boston's ocean is clearly better than Seattle's ocean, so I think Boston definitely wins in the ocean category.
Seattle is kinda cool. Too many hipsters, rain, and asians. Not a sports city. Weather sucks 75% of the year. Washington as a whole is pretty rad but Seattle kinda sucks
