So I am getting a pair of halo 2s, and am not sure what size to get. I am 5'7" and about 120lbs. I rode a 176 filthy rich which was hard to maneuver in the park, and am currently skiing on a 164 j ski tropic thunder, which feels great. I want to be able to use these next year as well as this year, but will not grow more than 2". So what is the size for me? I am thinking a 170 but am not sure if this is too short?
Snowflake222Just go one size up from the 170[/QUOTeThat would be a 176, and wouldnt that be too big since my fr's were?
They ride shorter because of the rocker in the tips, but they aren't that hard to get used to. If you get the 176s, they will make you a better skier (longer can be harder to control, but will build leg strength and stability). Also if you still have room to grow then the answer will almost always be to get a size up.
If you're done growing I'd go with the 170s for sure, if you are not done growing maybe still 170, maybe one size up.
so is the 170 the way to go? i cannot find any 176s so i think that i may have too... Anyone think this is a huge mistake? i dont mind using short skis
170 will be perfect for you in that ski. If you like the j ski in the 164, the halo with the long mellow rocker will feel pretty similar size wise.
Alright I think 170 but anyone think that is a mistake?
