I want to get my first job this summer, but I'm fifteen so it limits me a lot. I can't work with food, but I'll do anything besides that. Any good ideas?
Golf course is your best bet.
Working backshop at a course is such a sick gig for a 15 year old, driving golf carts, washing clubs, chilling, doing random shit, getting free golf and getting tips from people.
I did it for three years from 13-16 and that shit was fucking awesome.
Bag drop was a really popular job when I was growing up, I never got around to it though
I did a lot of lawn care, roustabout, umping etc

I worked on the golf course maintenance crew for a bit and fucking hated it. Doing sand trap day was the absolute worst.
Sweet though, because you get off at like 2pm.

Yah I was a bit yong for maintenance so fortunately I didnt have to be at the course at 5 A.M every morning. I was working more day shifts and into the evenings.
If you're a good skier, ski instructor. Some places will hire 15 year olds.

This or caddying.
Work for a radio station as a sound board guy. My friend does that and it's a really chill job.
I work for my local school district on their grounds department doing landscaping, mowing, maintenance, etc. I really enjoy it as I get paid pretty well, weekends and holidays off, and I'm off by 3 every day. You could contact your super independent to see if they could hire you to do something like that if that interests you.

For sure. I did cart washing and other stuff for a couple summers. Could have stayed working there and moved up stopped around maybe 15.
Yard work can be good. If anybody needs anything done. Mow some lawns. You can make bank mowing lawns. At least compared to the amount of work to how much money you can get at that age. Also doesn't require much skill.
In the winter you can work at your ski area and teach some lessons and all that.
Learn about electronics and become an entrepreneur so you don't have to take shit from managers. Make a million doll hairs before 23. Just a suggestion. Or ask yourself what you're doing for decades. *shrug*

Why didn't you like it. I'm considering course maintenance this summer and heard it's pretty good.
charmandersell drugs!
Someone has found the answer
OP, just do what these fine humans say. My first job was a ski instructor at 15... I know that's winter but just my two cents. Can 15 year olds lifeguard? Probably not?
why cant you work at 15? I was 15 last summer and worked in a sandwhich shop legally.
lifeguarding is a good one. i lifeguarded last summer and training sucked ass but it was really fun.
this summer i'm working at my neighbors race shop. probably going to sweep floors for the summer
Construction, I did that last year and i had a blast. It's awesome seeing a house go from foundation to finished.
I'm fifteen and I am hired to be a bike tour guide. Pays bank, and should be fun.
And be a lifeguard. They pay bank, or at least here. $17 an hour...
work for a catering company. look for hiring positions on Craigslist
worked for me and made decent moniezz
Golf course or a country club is probably going to be your best bet.

Omg it's so simple why didn't anyone tell me this before!
In reality, my first Job was a box boy and it wasn't awful. Depending where live you could try and be an extra in movies, really easy work, just not steady
Wants a job for summer
"You should be a ski instructor"
Only on NS...
i worked in a shoe store when i was fifteen, just recieving all the inventory and putting it on the shelves and shit, great job, payed 9.00 an hour
Check out local dive bars, see if they are hiring for general help. A lot of the time they will let you work regardless of your age (probably under the table). My first job was as a cooks helper, which turned into full shifts of being the cook for the bar (I was 14/15 at the time)

This. I did this when i was 15 and it was awesome especially if the course if full of retired peopel
Honestly you should be a bus boy or a dishwasher. Its a great summer job

I don't get it. What is this summer you and OP speak of?

Why do I just picture you getting into a sand trap and trying to build and shape a park jump out of it?
I've got a friend that runs a blow job service that I think you'd be great for. Want me to put you in contact?
-MK-And be a lifeguard. They pay bank, or at least here. $17 an hour...
holy shit, classic AK
this will sound like a troll, but get a job at mcdonalds if nothing else opens up. Its a disgusting, filthy, hell hole; but once you move onto a better job you will appreciate that new job more. Why get the best possible job right away? then you can only go down hill. hard work starts in the lowest of places

Honestly the stupidest idea ever, you don't need to work in some shitty fast food resturuant to learn how to work hard. You should get the best possible job now because unless you are total fuck up it will help you get a better one later. Also do recommend people buy ski boots that don't fit at all because they will appreciate the next pair even more?
i caddied when i was 14 and 15 it was a great job, hit up the nearest private course they most likely do caddies.
Working on a golf course is awesome but schedules are often really shitty (at least in my area). I used to work 12 on 2 off and no overtime for the 8 hours we put in on the weekend we didn't get off.
If worse comes to worse just go door to door trying to mow lawns for like $10. Income's tax-free and if someone wants you to mow their lawn once then there's a good chance they'll end up being your client for the summer.

What the hell, where do you live? In California lifeguards are a dime a dozen and we get paid around $10 an hour...
Also OP, I worked in warehouses all summer when I was in high school, it's not super rewarding but the pay's decent, and sometimes you find some cool stuff.

Alaska!
if you're good at spelling, you could teach ns how to spell?
WhimpyConstruction, I did that last year and i had a blast. It's awesome seeing a house go from foundation to finished.
You had fun doing construction? You must not have done any kind of hard work because that shit is the worst. I've worked the last two summers building pools, 8-12 hour days are normal. It's great money but it is an absolutely terrible job.
If you get a job that pays decently, learn to save your money and put it away. Learn to budget, figure out what money you're going to spend and what you're going to save. The earlier you learn to handle money the better.
