Looking at the freeride and freeride hp. Site doesn't give too much info and I was wandering if anyone had this ski and what you think. How is it in pow and groomers? Is it durable? Is it buttery?
Also was looking at the wreckreates if you have info on those
i havent ridden them, but i was talking to a guy who had them, he works at a ski shop and can get any ski they carry for free, and he still buy's the libtechs so theres that ahah

So they are worth buying? At least for your buddy?
I've never used them but I heard that the wavy edge think doesn't work too well on skis. I'd say go demo them first just because they are not like anything else being made right now.
The ski has magnatraction which is essentially a serrated edge. It's really grabby and apparently it doesn't work to well on skis like the guy above me said. Again, just demo them first before you make a decision.
Magna traction is awful it reduces your effective edge and provides less edge contact with the snow, resulting in more chattery and less smooth turns when on edge. It also messes with the skis side cut radius by adding waves to what should be a smooth arc the wavy edge prohibits executing good arching carves. The skis also don't have a full steel wrap edge. This causes problems with de-lamination and durability. Adding magna traction to a ski with re-curve (early rise) also pulls contact points toward the skis center which makes the skis actually perform on a smaller sidecut. I work in a shop and you would not believe the amount of snowboards that we get that have their edge sticking out of the front because they're not full wrap. No good on groomers, prolly okay in powder. Consider a Line Blend if you want a buttery ski that can ski groomers and pow.
With the magna traction it works best when the edges are dull. When the edges are sharp they don't like to break out and scrub speed as in going into a side slip. With maga traction you have to try it. Its the kind of thing you will either love or absolutely hate.

Thanks man. I have a pair of chronics that are like blends but just wanted something new and was looking at these. Thanks for all the info
My Dad has them and really likes them. I havent used them but he says nothing but good things about them. There construction seems pretty bomber and they seem pretty stiff from hand flexing.
JahFeelsAll of lib techs skis are stiff as fuck
My friend said one of them was buttery. Can't remember which one tho. Think it was the wreckreates or switch or something
