I'm going to be rooting for Argentina but I don't think they'll make it far.

I feel Netherlands is a serious underdog.

Does anyone know if you can watch all the games online somewhere? The day the games start I'm moving in to a new apartment where I will not have cable tv.

Get the fuck out of here. This is a hype thread to talk about how stoked the billions of people who are going to watch this thing are.

How about stop watching stupid UFC and learn the game's ins and outs. It's a lifeblood that you grow up with. Either you see the amazing things footballers do with ease or you don't. It's a non stop marathon with 20 things going on at once. Defenses and offenses are decided upon in a matter of seconds and one mistake can be the game. Don't put you not liking the game on others, it's your fault you can't see the beauty in the game. Not ours.

Brazil vs. Ivory Coast at 2:30 pm EDT on June 20 should be entertaining. Also, if you want something more relevant, try US vs. England on at 2:30 on the 12th, the second day of matches.

Also, the Netherlands vs. Cameroon on the 24th at 2:30.

Exactly who I'm rooting for. obviosly I want USA to do well but Argentina are dope (tevez is the shit) and the Netherlands could do some serious damage. Hoping they take it all

I've already done enough arguing about who I think is going to win in the other threads (yea this is a repost, but a good one)
But I will say, I'm home for the summer from college, so my dad is moving our tv outside, ordering the fifa package so we get every game live, and we are staying up all night for the opening weekend watching every game. I'm pretty stoked

Soccer is a sport where there is nonstop playing. In football (American) you have breaks between every play. Basketball you have fouls, and that stops plays. Baseball, after every pitch you have to wait. Soccer, and hockey (and a few other sports which aren't as popular I guess) are non stop playing. Last world cup I was still in high school, I woke up every morning at 4ish so I could watch it live. If it really bores you, choose a team to root for, and watch while rooting for them, that should help make it more entertaining, and yes, as to the post a few up, USA vs England should be interesting, along with any game involving Brazil (then again to me every game is fun to watch)

I am portuguese so I am going for PORTUGAL! However Ronaldo is the captain and I really doubt his leadership skills. I also think that USA and Brazil have very good chances of winning it

So much skill, yet classic underachievers - I just don't get it. You look at the roster and you think they should dominate. I think the Confed Cup made them look like chokes, but I fully expect them to dominate come June.

Although, with Torres coming off surgery and Xavi playing with Barca injured, they could be finished real early if the right (or wrong) circumstances occur.

i have the netherlands in the finals. wesley sneijder is a beast on free kicks. I will be rooting for US and Italy though, but i predict a netherlands spain final, with spain winning it all.

i'm going to be skiing at hood the entire time the world cup is going on, im really worried i won't be able to see much of the games.... espn360 better save my ass.

i'm def not rooting for US or Italy, their style of soccer sucks. def going for holland, hopefully they'll still be good, and espana for suree, so much talent/potential on that team.

torres has been injured on and off for the entire year, and is still at the moment uncertain.

Spain will not win this world cup. I'd say the netherlands have a fair shot, as do germany. Brazil is impossible to write off, but their squad this time around isn't nearly as good as i think it could be. Italy won't go far, and neither will portugal. England has a decent shot, but i think their hype will once again end in upset. They are the only country who's media declares them the winner a year before the tournament even begins. France (my country) needs to hit good form, and they could go far, despite having the most incompetent manager in history. Argentina will probably make quarterfinals, but by that point maradona will have scuttled their hopes, and messi could either be brilliant, or extremely disappointing.

I'm hoping and praying france do well, but i think their coach is gonna kill their hopes.

Netherlands are good but i think they are too attack centered to do well against teams like Italy and Spain.

Spain is allround good but they have huge expectations which I believe they will not live up to.

Italy plays the most boring soccer on the planet, but it works sometimes and they will do alright until they face strong balanced teams like Brazil or Argentina.

Argentina has an extremely strong squad and their work ethic is amazing, I think they are gonna go very far this time around.

African teams like Ivory Coast not to be counted out, they are gonna give portugal a tough battle for that second spot out of group G.

Portugal and England, great squads but usually fail to perform at the elite stages of competition such as the world and euro cups, dont think they are going far in the elimination rounds.

Germany and France also have a chance to go really far if their players perform well, but these two countries always seem to step up to the plate when it comes to World Cups, both are definite contenders.

All that being said much of the outcome is gonna depend on the draws for the elimination rounds, if the Netherlands are able to avoid italy or spain then, they will make it to the final or at least very far. This year the competition is so full of amazing squads which are made up of only the worlds best that it will once again be extremely competitive, any of the teams above can win it all in my opinion. Would be great to see an african team do well in Africa! Hoping for the sake of soccer that Italy is shown that playing with 9 defenders is not how you win world cups, I want soccer to stay exciting and continue to have more offensive and fast paced soccer, not such passive play as Italy.

Now we just wait to watch the best soccer players in the world compete in South Africa, couldn't be more stoked!

England and America are the only two teams I care about so I'm pretty torn as to who I'm going to root for. Most likely England because I've generally only followed England games up until the last cup when USA started getting some good results vs burly teams.

I think England will win, but it should be a really good game. Both teams are very good but neither are magnificent. England always has an incredible squad but they never manage to pull it together. They should do way better than they do, just based on the players they have. For some reason they seem to not play as well for their country as they do for their clubs.

At least I know one of them will get through, they are the best teams in their division.
