New Rails at Blue

Ok, so now comes the time of the year in which we begin construction of the new rails for the season.

Right now, we've got a few ideas under our belts, but I would like more. I want to hear a million ideas, and choose the best...

Soooooooo....

If you've ever had an idea for a rail, post it here. Who knows, if you come up with something good, we just might build it!

Rules:

Under 60' in length.
No staircase rails (we've already thought of that)
Loop rails are impossible

And don't give me this 'You know in where they have this rail?' I know you're all more creative than that. I want NEW ideas. Fuck following the trends, I want to set them.

I like rollercoaster box... but rollercoasters have been done before.

Come on, rack your brains, we want NEW ideas. Not new for blue, new for the entire world of terrain parks.

Best idea I've heard so far is the opposite of a curved rainbow. So a curved dip rail, that's like 50 feet long.

CURVE to KINK!

Also Blue needs a rail with feet on an angle so you can slap it down on the edge of the pipe in the spring when the pipe gets slower.

A wall ride would be awesome too. All you need are 4 4x12 metal laminated plywood boards. If you go to a company and ask them if they ca save their scrathed metal and laminate it on you'd be able to get it for cheap. the place I worked a few summers ago would throw out around 5 boards a week just because they had scratches and couldn't be used on jobs.

what about that slack rail that you guys thought of a long time ago? opposite rainbow with bearings on either side connecting it to the supports. I'm sure the insurance people would have a filed day on it though.

yea, the slackline dip rail thing... not sure about the liability though... curved double kink (down flat down)... haven't seen that in a park... it'd be better as a staircase rail though so i donno...

and you better paint them.

you need some more easyish intermediate rails to cater to the less good people like me. Theres no middle ground. Theres pathetic 7ft long, 1 foot wide rails, and massive rainbows and kinks. You guys need some middle ground to aid progression. That blue flat rail was a good start!

Don't you worry...

One of our prime concerns is going to be getting a dope beginner/intermediate jibline going as soon as possible. It'll be everything from tiny 5' rails to long and low. There will be everything you need to learn how to get on the big rails.

In terms of the curved up things, what do you guys think about the opposite of a curved rainbow? I'm saying like a big, long, curved dip rail....

I like the 'dual inclined fishook rail' that'd be pretty fun...

Try to think of some ideas that are less of a gnarly rail to slide, but have tonnes of opportunities to do tricks on them...

I really like the giant double trapezoid too... that'd have to be built very carefully. Make it super mellow, so that you could air the top, air to the top, and air the entire top trapezoid.

yeah thats the thinking behind the double trap, tons of different combo's, it would be like a video game. And I wanted to go to bed.

The fishhook thing just looks cool, it would be fun to grind if you could stay on.

doug, what about a reverse rainbow rail.. so you start off its flat for about a foot or so and then it curves down back up and then straight again. kinda like the outline of an upside down amish mans hat...

actually the stall rail and the double fish hook rail of QuazBotch's are pretty sweet, a little crazy but all entirely, well, reasonably practical.

no real original ideas here but....

having a set up with two identical rails side by side so you and a friend can do like tandem jibs.

or maybe like an S rail but with a gap in the middle so you would have to air out the middle to complete, ya know what i mean?

what if you could slide a rail through a bus or for that matter through any object, maybe like a shed or perhaps something much cooler than a shed.......i'm dyin' here....

So far my top three are:

-double trapezoid
-curved down-flat-down

Honourable mentions:
-concrete (we already thought of it)
-half octagon (we were considering half hex...)
-opposite rainbow (we were thinking of the similar 'unrainbow' idea already
-rail through a bus (they had a rail through a tube like 5 years ago, but the insurance company CANNED it.)

So good on everybody, KEEP THEM COMING! No final decisions have been made yet, there's still room for somebody to see their dream rail in beautiful, glistening metal...

How about a rail that makes fart noises when you are on it. So if some guy disasters it and only hits the last bit it makes a squeeky 'pft', but if you grind the whole thing it goes like 'pfffttlblblblblblbllbfftbbtblblblbltllbllslslsspoopftts'
