Hey guys new to newschoolers, I just had a quick question. I recently bought the look pivot 12 bindings. I plan to mount them on some faction skis. I do a lot of park (not the best, but able to do a good amount) My question is: are these bindings going to be too low of a din setting for me? Should I get bindings with a higher din? Or will these be fine?
Based on the fact that you didn't give any information about what your height/weight/boot size is and are asking what DIN you should have I'd say you should probably just go to a ski shop and get it done professionally.
The chances of the binding been to low DIN for you is very small, you'd only need a higher DIN binding if you ride with your DIN at 10+ or you're very heavy.
There are din calculators online. However always take any recommendations here or from a calculator with a grain of salt.
Unless you are extremely heavy or extremely aggressive, the pivot 12 should be sufficient.
Use a din calculator to get a general idea of where your din should be and then get a ski tech to confirm this. Buy a binding that allows you to comfortably set that din with a bit of adjustment either way in case you need it. Then get them set by the tech. If you find yourself popping out of your bindings too much or not coming out when you should be then adjust accordingly.
