In the United States, who are you voting for to be the next president? If you feel necessary, add why in a post!

Why does everyone forget that there are more than two parties?

milk_manAm I more scared of another Clinton presidency or Trump presidency? That's the question
camstainClinton will most likely offer Bernie the VP position, which he will accept, to secure the Democratic vote. For a lot of people Clinton & Bernie together is a lot less scary then Trump.
onenerdykidSide note- if Bernie doesn't win the nomination, I hope he doesn't form a 3rd party. That would be Nader all over again. In order for a 3rd party to realistically work, there needs to be a fourth party as well. Otherwise, it simply splits one of the two main parties, just as the Green Party did to the Democrats in 2000. If that happens, it makes it that much easier for Trump to win.
camstainThe problem with Sanders supporters is that 90% of them have no clue what they are voting for. Under Sanders presidency, next year, if you make $22,000 a year you are going to have to pay an EXTRA $3,000 in taxes. Also, say goodbye to small businesses. It is crazy how people think that he can be successful passing everything through congress when the guy has been working as a representative and a senator for 25 years and has not made a single substantial impact. Essentially the guy is a terrible law maker. Not only that but he has not given a single legitimate method to how he is going to accomplish any of the things in his campaign like shutting down big banks and getting rid of student debt. If you want to shut down the big banks then let them do it themselves, history has proven that on numerous occasions. Socialism, democratic or not, is a very scary idea for this country. His basic theory is that 'hey it works for others countries, why not ours?'... this is a very flawed outlook on socialism and if you actually read up on it you will see how it just simply will not work with the United States. Essentially, the American dream will become a thing of the past and will be replaced with entitlement.
The last point I'm going to make because I'm getting tired of rambling... STOP FEELING LIKE YOU'RE OWED SOMETHING.

REGRESSIVELEFTI believe my Job here is done. I've effectively influenced the children of the white elite. Let our future be bright young children. The mold for future candidates has been set and humanitarianism will prevail.
camstainThere are a lot of problems that I have with Bernie Sanders... Essentially the guy is conning everyone out of their vote. I'm not gonna sit here and type away though and tell you that Donald Trump is an outstanding citizen, the same goes for Hillary... When it comes down to it all of the candidates are pretty miserable. I myself can't wait for Rubio to get another 4 years of experience under his belt because he was a little too young for the current campaign. It is also important that people need to vote for the president that is going to have the best cabinet.
A lot of the misguided Sanders supported are voting for him simpy because he is the one candidate with a solid environmental plan. That's great and all, I want to improve the environment just as much as the next guy but... Bernie does not have a solid economic plan. Our government simply cannot be efficient if our economy is suffering. A lot of people thought that Obama was bad and used the amount of new spending he incurred as a reason for that bias. However, did you know that Bernie wants to enable $15 TRILLION in new spending? As a reminder our national debt is currently at around $19.5 trillion.
I implore everyone to stop listening to their friends and do some research. It is easier than ever to jump on the bandwagon. Something my old professor told me "you can never prove yourself right, until you prove yourself wrong," somewhere during that process your true position will be revealed.
The last point I'm going to make because I'm getting tired of rambling... STOP FEELING LIKE YOU'RE OWED SOMETHING.
TL;DR
Please do some unbiased research on your preferred candidate.

sodaksteeze. The value of a bachelor's degree will plummet and there will be no jobs, nobody wanting to work, and overall, a pissed off country. I would have preferred Kasich or even Cruz, but Trump is my choice by default.
sodaksteezeit makes more sense to me to work for your own money and spend it how you like rather than increase taxes and disperse all of the wealth equally. Like it or not, Bernie's plan looks good on paper but it will eventually destroy the economy and piss everybody off except the poor, who will be reaping the benefits. Also making college free is an awful idea, how seriously did you take your free high school education? probably a lot less than your expensive college years. sodaksteezeHillary should be in prison right now, but aside from that, I'm from a very Republican family and it makes more sense to me to work for your own money and spend it how you like rather than increase taxes and disperse all of the wealth equally. onenerdykidYou can still be super rich under Bernie's plan, it's just that other people get their fair share of it as well.
MitchTI hate when people say the poor should get 'their fair share'. Yes, the rich should obviously have to pay higher taxes than the poor, BUT, that money should be put towards creating opportunities for all citizens to better themselves. The concept of spending on what does good rather than what feels good should come into play. Creating jobs, facilitating research and development, etc instead of straight charity to those who aren't as well off. Taxpayer's money isn't a piece of pie that everyone gets their share of. If you want more, you have to work and become successful.
Also, anyone who thinks $15 minimum wage is a good idea is mistaken.
S.J.WBernie Sanders wants to invest into education at all levels,it's not a handout, it's just giving everyone an equal opportunity. For example, Australia has relatively high income inequality, higher than the OECD average. However, due to our investment into education the cycle of poverty is relatively low and the difference in education received is pretty much not different from whether you're super rich, or living in a poor area.
Bernie isn't just going to give handouts, welfare helps people get jobs, and further their life.
McNocheYou are making it very hard for me to withstand our truce with your last few posts in this thread. Anyhow, I will step away.

onenerdykidThey should get their fair share of the revenue generated by the company since their work contributes to that wealth. When modern CEOs make up to 330 times more than than workers, that is not exactly "fair". When modern corporations pay less in taxes than the middle class workers, that is not exactly "fair". This is what I am referring to when I say that people should get their fair share. I am not saying give free handouts. I am not saying you don't have to work hard. Rather, most people fail to understand that you can still be super rich and not have to squeeze every last drop out of the middle and lower classes- which is what is happening. The percentage of total income in America going to people who are in the top 1% has doubled over the past 30 years. It used to be 10% back in 1980 and in 2010 it was 20%. Moreover, the median and lower income families wealth declined by about 8%. This means that the richest 400 people in America have more money than the first 150 million combined. Do you think they got richer because they simply worked harder? And did all of the middle and lower class people work less? Hardly.
I agree with you on the $15 minimum wage- it should be somewhere between $10-12 given adjustments for inflation, buying power, and the amount of wealth in the nation.
