I'm doing a college business class and had to choose a company to research, so obviously I chose my favorite ski area. ;)
I'm wondering how likely you would be to stay at a hotel/hostel if Mt. Hood Meadows built one?
Mt. Hood Hostel:
The lowest floor of lodging will be a hostel style lodging product, with chalet rooms offering bunk beds and group rates for a low price. The rooms will be modeled after European hostels, with simple designs, few amenities, and public bathrooms. A communal lounge area will provide couches, a public kitchen, and game room. These rooms will have 3-8 person dorm beds, ranging from $35 - $45 per night. The hostel will target the young millennial customer segment that values affordability, simplicity, and a community experience. This product will also help to capture the customer segment that may not otherwise lodge at Mt. Hood due to high prices.
Obviously this doesn't consider that the forest service and environmental issues would probably never let this happen, but it's something to think about!
Just a simple yeah/no would help me collect some data for my project. Feel free to give some ideas and input too if you want. Thanks!
