PeppermillRenoDunno I'll be there at some point later in the winter I might go back to Whistler first though.
Excellent snow in BC Whistler had plenty as of a couple days ago and was 100% open.
If snow conditions were completely equal what is the better mountain or more difficult? Mutliple people told me different things and that Lake Louise/Sunshine were more difficult and some said it was easier and tamer.
Tough to say. I'd say whistler is the better mountain because the the coastal snow just sticks to even the steepest of slopes. You'd be hard pressed to find good pillow zones in the Rockies. The tree skiing at Whistler is really good too.
There is some really good steep stuff at lake Louise and sunshine, but it's lacking a large amount of good tree skiing. If conditions are equally good, you can't go wrong with any of them really. I've always found that Lake Louise is quite easy to find the good terrain without searching too hard and without a local to chase around.
