All I can say is growing up in middle school and the early days of high school, going to the Dumont Cup was the SHIT. Seeing the Amateurs I watched edits of all winter in one place on the East Coast was too legit. Then as I got older I discovered the after parties which were equally as awesome. I'd say that Dumont Cup and rails to riches are the two most important east coast events, the only events where AMs could really make a name for themselves. The Dumont Cup brought a lot of buzz and legitimacy to freeskiing at Sunday River (the creation of T72) and while I've often perceived Simon to be a bit cocky, his impact on the park scene at Sunday River through the Dumont Cup is legendary.
