how the fuck do you propose we differentiate between students then? their "experiences" "feelings?"
ACT/SAT scores do a good job saying how smart people are, if you get a fucking 18 on the act 100% i will guarantee you either have an iq below 100 or just didnt answer half the problems, if you get a 36 you are pretty fucking smart, obviously some people dont test well and you can study for the test but it does a good fucin job.
GPA does a good job of saying how much someone works and how smart they are depending on the school,
there is a reason we use these things, go to harvard look around at the students, talk to them, most are really fuckin smart, go to fuckin ohio state talk to them most are going to be pretty fucking average to dumb
if you cant test shit how are you going to know shit, do we measusre the speed of an atom, no we fucking measure that shit
Peter.most colleges now still require standardized test scores to be submitted, but they don't only use them to judge an applicant. most admissions departments will say the test scores are like 3rd or 4th on the list of things they look for in an applicant.
yeah, tests suck for some people, but you make up for it in other ways. there has to be some sort of way to rank people
when colleges say that, they mean that once they whittle down the field, eg only people with act 32-36, uw gpa above 3.8 then they care about the other shit but if you dont make it into that pool it doesnt matter how much dick you sucked in high school
