by far, nerdiest thing, but I find it really interesting. after a lot of practice i just hit 1.2ghz on a raspberry pi b+. Anyone out there overclocks? Anyone super great at it?

was all excited to buy a nice gaming pc the other day, then i couldnt get my credit extended....this a good thing though, i dont need something else to put me into debt.
was gunna go pretty all out too, was thinking liquid cooled intel 6700k with gtx 980ti. then down the road i would add another gtx 980ti or two in SLI and OC the cpu to keep up..
oh well, will probably still get the build going later this year once i can sell my old car.

I spent probably 3 hours overclocking my 660 and it was finally stable when it was pretty much back to default. That was when I realized I have a superclocked card which leaves very little room to overclock....
I screwed around with OCing a AMD A6, A8, and A10. The best boost is by far in the A10, the only issue is that because it also runs with an on board graphics card it runs pretty warm from the start (On board graphics is like an AMD or Radeon 6450 or something like that).
If you don't have the cash for a Water cooler setup, you could always just get thermal paste, it cost like $7 online and can make a world of difference. Also if you say to yourself "It will be fine if I don't do this..." then it isn't a stable OC and will fry.

What you need to do is buy whichever of the new pentium chips is unlocked for like 60 bucks and overclock it super hard. People do it air cooled just fine and get really far with it.
