bighomieflockI'm going to say yes. The largest planet threatening problem is climate change and I think that eventually humans will figure their shit out and switch to other energy sources. We already have the capability to switch right now. I could see this switch coming late and having adverse effects but I think it will happen sooner or later.
daOysterJust read some interesting new research that looked at giant clam shell and coral chemical composition. It showed that the warming periods in the medieval age and during the roman empire's time weren't localized to Europe as once thought. In fact, global temps were actually around 2 degrees hotter than they are now. What this means is that the warming period we're experiencing currently is actually within natural fluctuations. Might be a complication in the current climate change debate.
Also, not denying climate change here, just saying it's possible that we aren't contributing to it as much as we thought. Doesn't mean we should still be reducing our carbon footprint though.

nocturnalOk man take one out of place example, and discredit all the other 100 of pics of scincetific proof. I'm telling you that does not discredit climate change.

daOysterThis is some of the first evidence that earlier heating periods weren't localized to Europe and instead happened on a global scale. Of course this doesn't discredit climate change, it's still getting warmer either way. All this does is possibly discredit the human impact on it and reinforce some old arguments that the heating is following a natural cycle. Again, I'm still for changing our ways, just saying our current processes might not have as large of an impact on the warming as we thought. We're still finding out how things are adapting to the heating in ways we didn't expect and still don't know all the variables in climate change.
DlCKI ONLY CARE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS BETWEEN NOW AND 2075

HodorEven if we stopped burning all fossil fuels 10 years ago climate change would still fuck shit up. The crazy thing is we have the technology to reverse it. Look up "hose to the sky". Many people hate the idea of geo-engineering but if we get to the point where we have no other choice, I got not problem with it.
milk_manHumans started using lots of fossil fuels in a short amount of time, and humans will stop using fossil fuels in a short amount of time. That is all.
