In January of 1972, Rick Sylvester attempted the first ever ski base jump as the finale of a ski film simply dubbed the 'Earth Rider' project. It's principal director and producer, seeking to compete with the likes of Dick Barrymore and bring the style of Bruce Brown to the ski film genre, would quickly run into Sylvester's hulk sized ego. By decade's end, this Squaw Valley original, having produced 4 full feature ski films among other rather colored film pursuits would all but abandon his ski film career.
By 1984, this forgotten film maker would re-emerge triumphant as the writer, 2nd unit director, and producer of Hotdog! The Movie, grossing $38 million world wide.
It's HOTDOG! The Legacy.
Ski porn will never be the same...
