Getting into urban

I'm planning to get into urban this coming season, and I honestly have no idea where to even start. Here are my 3 most important questions-
1. How do I build the jump so it doesn't crumble?
2. Do I have to wax the feature first like in skating?
3. Best way to generate speed?

anything else that I should know?

1. Pack it tight and use water

2. Usually the rails will slide good. If not dont wax, use a snow or ice chunk to rub the rail

3. Either a portable drop in or a bungee. Sometimes you get lucky and a feature has natural speed above it.

Its always best and easiest to have a group of people. Dont be a pussy, shovel the stairs if theres snow on them. If the cops or someone else kick you out dont be a dick, be respectful and you usually wont get in trouble. Always shovel away your lip and inrun when youre done.

These are my tips for urban (Most of my "urban" is me messing around in the parking lot while I'm waiting for my ride)

1. having two of your friends tow you by your poles doesn't work

2. if you're gonna use your ski instead of a shovel than put it on the ground horizontally with the bindings facing out and use it as a snowplow

3.^^just don't even use your ski as a shovel really.

4. Early season snowbanks can make good mini backflip jumps since they're small and manageable.

5. Don't underestimate things.

If your going to do it consistently invest in some equipment.
Sturdy shovels, banshee bunjee,grab your crew and go to work. Always have water for those kickers. If you don't want to drop the cash on items like the banshee your friends pulling you WILL work. wear a helmet too if you are new to it.

that's called a pole whip and it definitely works. the vast majority of urban rails with flat inruns that were hit before bungees and winches blew up were hit with pole whips

and they're fuckin DOPE

give your jumo time to set. don't think that the second it's built that you can hit it. letting it set will allow it to harden not crumble away

Another method of getting speed is being towed by a car if the feature allows for it.

Set limits you are not clayton vila and your not invincible like hoodcrew. You will fuck up if you get cocky. I did. So be safe.

1. Know your speed and your eqipment. Know how fast your winch or bungee is gonna pull you. Dont do shit reckless.

2. Overshooting sucks. Ease yourself into it

3. Let the jump fuckin set. Dont be a dumbass and hit it right away and lose all your hard work when it falls apart.

4. Shovel the stairs and dont be a pussy.

5. Make sure to film in case someone fucks up so then you can have it on video. I regret not doing that.
