MaineLandCollabArgentina is ranked 3rd in fifa standings and 3/4 of there team have not been present during those matches. That says enough about there depth, its there... Players like levezzi, palacio, maxi rodriguez are on the bench when they would walk into most teams start. Mascherano + Gago + Di maria will be there midfield supporting Aguero Messi Higuain. Federico + garay in CB wil do there job. Maybe there defense is slightly weaker but that is comparing there defense to an offence that is forced to bench the best players in the world due to overloaded talent. Its overshadowed but only slightly worse than the best teams in the world.
Sure in the history of club futbol this year defensive minded teams have shown results. However in the past worldcups its been shown time and time again, one player controlling a team can bring them to victory. Messi like maradonna let his country down during his first world cup. And i believe messi like maradonna will come back and win the cup...
And what happens when they play spain?? Lets look at what happened last time they played spain with there full teams...

Only time will tell!
Only Levezzi would walk onto a world-class team and possibly start. You are comparing Argentina to the likes of Spain, Germany, and Brazil by saying they have the best offense.
The Spanish 30 man team is stacked. Juanfran, Alba, Ramos, Pique, Albiol, Martinez, Moreno, Carvajal and Azpilicueta make up the defense while Busquets, Xabi, Xavi, Koke, Navas, Silva, Iniesta, Cazorla, Iturraspe, Isco, Cesc, and Mata make up Spanish pool for midfielders. Their forwards include Torres, Costa, Villa, Pedro, Llorente, and Negredo make up their forwards. Thats a terrifying pool to choose from. Want a physical line up? Play Koke, Xabi/Busquets with Silva, Xavi, and Iniesta with a Llorente or Negredo up top. Want a fast line up? Play Carvajal, Alba, Navas, Silva, Iniesta, Koke, Xabi, and Xavi with Torres or Villa. Endless line-ups. Question is, who gets cut?
Germans have Boateng, Durm, Grosskruetz, Howedes, Hummels, Lahm, Mertesacker, Mustafi, Schmelzer, and Kramer for defense. There is both speed (Grosskruetz, Schmelzer, and Lahm) and strength (Hummels, Boateng, and Mertesacker). In the midfield you have Draxler, Ginter, Gotze, Khedira, Kroos, Muller, Ozil, Podolski, Reus, Schurrle, and Schweinsteiger. Up top is a little weaker with only klose and Volland, but Podolski and Reus can move up top. Again, this is a 30 man roster and those cuts are still great players.
Brazil has Dante, Silva, Luiz, Henrique, Alves, Maicon, Marcelo, and Maxwell listed with Miranda and Luis on reserve who both played in the CL final. In the midfield they have Fernandinho, Hernanes, Gustavo, Oscar, Ramires, Paulinho, Willian, and Bernard with Lucas Leiva and Moura on reserve. Up top is Fred, Hulk, Jo and Neymar. Again, a terrifying line-up to have to think about.
I do not think Argentina has the defensive depth or skill to handle the likes of Marcelo, Alves, Alba, Carvajal, Schmelzer, Grosskreutz, or Lahm bombing down the wings combined with skilled players in the midfield and up top for each respective country.
treebeardSwitzerland is currently ranked 8th in the world, above Italy, France, Netherlands, etc. Fifa world rankings are bullshit.
Truth. No disputing that. FIFA rankings are the worst.
