Kinda mean to say that but its spot on...
Anyone realizes that skiing is ridiculous? Not ridiculous like, "Ah brah the level of skiing is so ridiculous", or "that trick was so ridiculous!". But ridiculous in the literal term:
"Causing or worthy of ridicule or derision; absurd; preposterous; laughable"
At the core of skiing the only piratical thing skiing brings into this world is enjoyment. Well that and traveling in snow...
Laker swagging out your landing falls under the category of absurd, and laughable. Adding an extra spin or flip to an already existing two flip, and two spins is preposterous. Both fall under the banner of ridiculous. Sliding down metal or tossing your body off a cliff is absurdly laughable that invites ridicule from those who don't gain any enjoyment from it.
Any way you cut it skiing is ridiculous, and sometimes I need to remind myself that when I see a trick I think is dumb, or someone trying to swag out a landing that skiing as a whole skiing is preposterous. So unless you are someone that is using hand made cross country skis to insure your survival skiing should be an enjoyed. Criticizing other peoples skiing is just absurd because skiing is at its core is ridiculous.
Now I realize I made a blanket statement that hasn't taken in account the practicality of business and peoples lives being supported by skiing but I didn't want to confuse myself anymore then I am.
Take a page from Jason and remember skiing is fun, and you can have fun with or without poles.
