I still think he has very robotic style - which I'm not fully crazy about - but god dammit can that guy execute a fucking trick flawlessly.

I give respect where its due, and his athletic prowess is incredible.

I fully came around to him after his olympic run. Hes def got some robot steeze, but he does a switch dub 9 genie grab mid contest run. That isnt even human. His rails were ridiculous too really.

There is something called competitive slopestyle skiing.  It happens to be in the Olympics for the first time this year.  Nick Goepper kills it if you haven't noticed.  Really.  His Olympic run was f$%#ing an amazing display of athletic and acrobatic ability.  Oh and yes.... a great example of competitive slopestyle shredding too.

I knew that after his fist run of finals he was going to receive a lot of well deserved praise. I always respected his ability but now I'm a huge fan. Best slopestyle run of all time and should have won. Its too bad he was the first one to get a high score and the judges were being conservative.

Credit is due when someone surpasses the norm. Good job Nick, you killed it along with Gus, Joss, Henrik and everyone else. It was awesome to see how far comp skiing has comp, and I look forward to watching you guys grow up as skiers and men and seeing what is next.

I wanna watch Goepper troll everybody and make an edit with a different name on the title( and wearing gear where we couldnt recognize him.) Everybody would agree that it is a bomb edit...until the name reveal... I think the only reason people hate on him is because hating on comp skiing and Goepper himself is so "cool".

I really thought he should have won. His rail game was head over heels better than the competition. And then his jumps definitely didn't suck either. I guess they just don't weight the rail section too heavily?
And whats this shit about genie grab? Isn't it the screamin semen?

I think he took 3rd because judges were hating on him for using no poles, which is fair

that announcer is fuccin terrible....

'250 on 250 off' ----> when in reality it was switch 270 on pretz 450 off

'flatspin 250 off' -----> super k-fed

'called a robot cause he just goes and goes and goes' -----> that's why people call him a robot. news to me


I heard the English announcer who was terrible but at least he wasn't making up names for tricks

I think Nick got way steezier over the past year... Like idk if this make sense, but I feel like the actual style in the tricks are the same, aka perfect execution, but just the way he skis and navigates the course is wayy more flowy than it used to be, I think it looks sick.

Like his style before was so bland, now it kinda has its own signature.

I think they just scored him a bit low on his first run. Had he put down that same run on his second run, I think he probably would have walked away with at least the silver.

A genie grab is a screamin semen whith a grab. If you cross your legs so that the right is behind the left one (this is a screamin semen, which of course can be done the other way around too), you'd grab your right ski under the boot with your left hand, kinda like a japan. That's why this trick is often called a screamin semen japan, or just a screamin japan as well. Goepper did that - and added another, simultaneous grab by grabbing his right ski with his right hand a few inches in front of the boot. I don't think it's the same grab that we were calling a dub genie during the x-games big air, but I guess every double variation of a genie grab still can be counted as a dub genie. There are so few people doing them.

Seriously, anyone bashing on Goepper doesn't get what Freeskiing is about.
If it's his self-expression style, that's what's up. Like it or not who cares?
Just respect the fuckin guy, that's his personnal style.
I prefer some less comp/perfect trick style, yeah. But dissing some personal style is just the plain contrary of what freeskiing is about. You can talk crap on the judging, but not on the guy, he have his own style, live with it.
