Who's planning trips to festivals? I recently learned I have the ability to go to coachella providing I can pay for it all, which isn't an easy task. Additionally, my father and I have talked about telluride, and seeing hayes carll and modest mouse at shaky knees
-benedettoSince EDM heavy, did you see the Mysteryland line up? Thoughts?
Edc= big names that will throw down in an urban setting.
Mystetyland= small names that mights also throw down in a rural setting.
I chose edc because I did it last year and I loved it. The stages are massive and my friend lives right my met life. Also there is tons of great dnb, dubstep and trance.
Most importantly, edc is awesome at putting people like bassnectar(the love of my life) at the same time as people like hardwell and tiesto so you know all the douche bros will not be there.
Mysterland's biggest appeal to me was the camping aspect. Don't get me wrong, the music is gone a be sick. Just DONT SEE PORTER ROBINSON if he's doing the Japanese bullshit set. Its super slow and un impressive. Not what you'd expect from porter. If you wanna do mysterland, I would go for it. It looks awesome- like a less awesome eforest.

For sure, man. I didn't input my opinion because I wanted to see yours first. I went to ML last year and going again. Bethel Woods is local to me so I wouldn't miss it even though I'm not a huge listener of EDM or any edm at all actually. I would of liked to see Bassnectar on the line up but its not a huge deal. I was apart of the ML group on facebook but had to leave after the shit storm ensued after the line up. So much drama over a line up when the line up doesn't matter as much for mysteryland. Not being a huge edm fan, I could never go to EDC with all the bro's and teenie boppers but I could see how it'd still be really fun. Great that your friend lives close to the parking lot because commuting everyday would fucking suck! Regardless, both festivals should be great. I went to ML last year not knowing a single artist and had a fucking blast.

Fucking awesome run, man. I saw Wed in Bing then Fri/Sat. Louie caught all four. They were seriously on fire man. I've been to about 14 shows but these 3 were def special. Happy to see they sold out Saturday night.
And as far as hitting more fest, I'm tied down to work and bills. Real life sucks. Credit card that I'll never pay off and a truck I can't afford anymore. You know how it goes.
Originally planning to hit up mtn jam because of the awesome line up but might save a few bucks and just do the moe. Saranac shows. The head of mtn jam did claim that he was going to fix the security issues so that part isn't holding me back.

Mysteryland has a pretty impressive "underground" showing this year for a mainstream festival. Verboten and Matthew Dear both curating stages is a cool move and I highly recommend checking out both of those areas if you wanna hear great music and hang with the more mature crowd
Kind of glad the phish dates are the way they are. Might live in oregon, so bend and CA might be doable but if I don't kind of glad they're so late. There aren't any northeast dates really and they're well after I'll have to leave. Last year I delayed my trip by 3 or 4 weeks to hit SPAC. This year if I leave the states I can just leave.

I camped over at landers, maybe a different situation? It was deffinatly abundant needless to say I consumed many mind altering substance never paid a dime, occasionally traded shit though. there was Groupe of 30+ ppl running naked tripping balls early Monday am, I had a couple come up to me and my girl when we were packing up and hook us up with a ton of free drugs, a tent, liquor, munchies pretty much everything they brought. They were too lazy to pack everything up/insanely noided from a weekend of consuming uppers and hallucinegens. Too this day I still have a bit of the stash left over I only ever trip for "special" occasions, dosnt stop my friends from Buggin me for my tabs. I'm saving them for a reason!

We had neighbors who threw there stash away and I talked to another dude who eat a g of Molly on the way in to avoid security. Turns out it was all threats.. Same ol story
The actually fest had a bit, but there was litterally only 2 drug arrests, camping on the other hand, zero security it was a fucking free for all, I had much better luck finding obscure drugs at TW. Dimitri, k, you name it was there. My tent neighbor was a fucking dentist who wrote himself a nice fat script of legal perks, bless his soul he cured my hang overs everymorning.

Holy Ground was fun but I could see how Landers would be awesome too by the way your talking about it. However, the shuttle ride sounds like a bummer. Holy Grounds are a big party but it seems like Landers had more people inter-mingling. If that makes sense.

You got it to a tea, we're doing holy grounds this year to experience both. I'm gunna miss having my car 2 feet from my tent though. The vibes were soo strong hahah. The shuttle back was wretched. You walk that mile down the hill all the while there's police/security/troopers. heavy acid trip plus mdma plus mounted police equals a great trip turned bad I seriously seen one of the horses breathing smoke while it's eyes turned glowing red It litterally to every cell in my body to stay calm lmao. Then you wait in a line while the workers point at you and make rude remarks about how your lost, ooh look a unicorn, and soo on it deff did not help when trying to wind down from an insane night. Then you sit in a crammed bus with some old ass man for a bus driver who gets lost turning the stated 15 min ride into and hour and a half of hell crammed on a old school bus in the middle of no where lights off and 90% of the people on the bus are either having a bad trip or consoling someone who is. without the shuttle the experience would have been perfect.
I did have a 40x40 campsite with my own power/water an existing leantoo, that over looked the Delaware I actually took a dip a few times. Hahah good times

Speaking of unPlurness, the reactions from everyone when the line up dropped was fucking insane. The facebook group lit up with hate. I shouldn't even bring it up again because it was so annoying. On a semi-related note, Krewella (sp?) was added to the SCAMP line up and there was a petition to have them taken off and I saw the best comment on facebook about it "Let the kids dance. I guess it's hard to let your hair down after it starts falling out" hahaha even though that DJ does suck.
I really wish people wouldn't use the "USA" chant as jt generic chant to go to. It's so corny. Especially when ML is an international type festival with people from all over the world there.

Yeah it was retarded, they're were using it in an almost melicous way sounds stupid but it was, the dude was talking about how he came all the way from Canada and to give him patients as he set up. a bunch of drunk Bros started chanting usa, that's when the girl kicked over his tower and the crowd cheered her on continuing to say usa. it's not always this way, I honestly love the fact it's an international event that's what make tommorwworld soo special imo.

Lollapalooza just released their lineup today and it's pretty heavy in my opinion seeing as Metallica and A$AP Rocky are two of my favorite acts ever. Definitely hoping to get some tickets on craigslist closer to the festival because I had no luck trying to get them online today.
