A buddy and I got on the gondola at Snowmass in our park attire and were asked by an older couple, "You are obviously snowboarders, why are you skiing?" It took us a solid 5 minutes to come up with an answer that didn't involve the word "retarded.." These two had no idea that skiers were even allowed in the park

Long time ago, like when I was 14, I was in sun valley for a mogul contest and was doing a halfpipe contest for fun basically and some gapers on the lift asked me about it and when I said i was doing a half pipe contest they said "Oh you snowboard too??" and I was like "uh no skiers go in the half pipe too" and they were like "what NO WAY i had no idea" it was like 2005 but still...

Some filthy rich looking couple visiting lake placid got on the gondola with my friend and I at Whiteface. They weren't even there to ski, just taking the gondola up to see the veiw. I had my skis next to me in the gondola and the woman asked us completely seriously "You two are are going to go down the mountain?" *Uhm... yeah?* "Why would you do that?" *Because we're skiing*
