I use a pack with camel back when I do backcountry all day, but that's because I spend most of the day skinning. plus I need the pack for avalanche probe, first aid kit, food, all that stuff.
I wouldn't take one to a park

i have one in my big bag obviously, but i also have a little tiny dakine that easily fits under my jacket and doesn't get in the way when i'm on the chairlift, so it's good for the park unless it's really hot outside

i eat snow when i get thirsty. sometimes there's pebbles in it but on the whole it works out pretty good.
my level of radness... it just can't... be quantified.
