Here's all the info anybody will ever need to know about where to mount their K2 Public Enemies.
All numbers are based on a 179cm ski.
bindings mounted at 'midsole' mark = 99.5 cm nose and 79.5 cm tail (56% nose/44% tail)
+1 mark = 98.5 cm nose, 80.5 cm tail (55%/45%)
+2 mark = 97.5 cm nose, 81.5 cm tail (54.5%/45.5%)
+3 mark = 96.5 cm nose, 82.5 cm tail (54%/46%) *same nose/tail percentages as the Line Chronic in a 177 length*
+4 = 95.5 cm nose, 83.5 cm tail (53.4%/46.6%)
+5 = 94.5 cm nose, 84.5 cm tail (53%/47%) *same nose/tail percentages as the Line 1260 in a 177 length*
center mounted = approx. +10, which gives 89.5 cm nose and tail
As most of you know, moving the bindings forward on the ski will give better spinning and rail balance, but mounting the binding farther back gives better carving and better float in deep snow. The reason I'm posting this is because I currently have my PEs mounted at the 'midsole' mark, and find it rather hard to ride fakie this way. I want to re-mount the bindings, but I was unable to figure out which mounting position would give me the performance I'm looking for. So I made my own measurements, then cross-checked them with some folks at K2, and voila! All the info you'll ever need for mounting K2 Public Enemies. Mine are now going to be mounted at the +3 mark.
