Flips easier than spins?

I realized it years ago but doing flips, mainly backies, flat 3, etc. is way easier for me than spinning standard 3s, 5s and 7s. It might have to do something with committing. I can fully commit flips because I know that Im going to fuck up if I dont. Spins on the other hand, is a different story. I sometimes stop doing the extra rotation for 5s and 7s because Its harder to commit, imo. Does anyone have the same problem?

Everyone haiting and OP is right.  Flips are easier then spins.  For more on this topic please search for the Simon Dumont hate threads about the Xgames big air he won with a double front flip.

I think I get what you're saying. A skier who has done one backflip and one 360 is more likely to stomp their next 10 backflips than their next 10 360s.

I think I landed the first 30 or so backies I attempted, and crashed most of the first 3s I tried. But backflips aside, I don't think flips are generally easier than spins, especially when you get into rotations above 5.

yes, scarier but easier, just ike i find a dub 12 easier than a 12, but scarier to huck first time

pretty invalid because you probably threw your first 360 when you were 10 years old and your first backflip sometime much later when you were better at skiing.
Unless you attempt both for the first time simultaneously, there is no real comparison here.

I guess i never really fuck backies up either but thats because a backflip in particular is the simplest trick ever. it has a completely spottable landing. A 360 is extremely easy too but slightly more blind of a landing than a backie. The law is not necessarily universal among all flips and all spins, tho

dont reallly know why im here again....
anyway
It's normal, any regular spin is MUCH harder to keep balance than any spin that is corked or rodeo'ed out.
How many times did I do sw 5's to back slap.., shit probably 50.
Then one day i got the balls to dip it and TADAM, sw cork/rodeo 5 to perfect landing.
so like i said, scarier, but easier,
much more logic, much easier to match the landing angle than by spinning straight up.

What. I'm doubting you landed your first 30 backies. Then saying spins above 5 are easier than backies?

I'm not saying spins are terribly hard, but a backflip you just float upside down, hang your legs, stick your tongue out at the earthlings below, and stomp that shit.

Once you get that perfect formula it's ridiculously easy.

Right, which is why I said "backflips aside", flips are not generally easier. Backflips are easier than 3s at first, but I wouldn't say frontflips, rodeos, mistys, etc are easier.

KingTaco makes a good point though, there aren't many people out there trying to learn backflips and 360s at the same time, which makes this a very theoretical discussion.

I see your point but I learned backies shortly after 3s because I was more scared to rotate another 5 or 7. I guess its all personal preference.
