and then water gets in your vents and you get wet anyways, defeating the purpose of the spray in the first place.

I want to know how long this stuff lasts because I'd really like to use it on a backpack to use up in Oregon

Yeah I've said this a few other places. Aside from a few trouble spots on outerwear like pant cuffs, knees, shoulders, etc, this stuff would be amazing on other pieces of gear, especially a backpack where you want your contents to stay dry. After reading some reviews it sounds like it's pretty durable on fabrics, but bad on smooth surfaces, and apparently it will leave a frosty blue finish on a surface to, something to watch out for. I'd go buy some right now but I don't even know where to look in Home Depot, let alone if it's available in Canada.

I bought some on Friday and it works surprisingly well, I'm gonna spray my bindings so snow never builds up on them

How safe is it to have it in direct contact with your skin over a long time? If this stuff isn't durable and it's rubbing off on you is it bad??
