So, today I am announcing the following changes to Xbox One and how you can play, share, lend, and resell your games exactly as you do today on Xbox 360. Here is what that means:

An internet connection will not be required to play offline Xbox One games – After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24 hour connection requirement and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360.

Trade-in, lend, resell, gift, and rent disc based games just like you do today – There will be no limitations to using and sharing games, it will work just as it does today on Xbox 360.

In addition to buying a disc from a retailer, you can also download games from Xbox Live on day of release. If you choose to download your games, you will be able to play them offline just like you do today. Xbox One games will be playable on any Xbox One console — there will be no regional restrictions.


so the two biggest flaws I saw with the XBOne are now removed (wise move!), now the debate is back on: is the PS4 still the better buy?

but hes right. video games are a waste of time and money. as far as im concerned every COD or any big game is the same thing, repackaged, and sold again with a catchier name. just a money grab, and xbox blows anyway. who needs em

Skiing is a waste of time and money. As far as I'm concerned every new ski is the exact same thing and companies are just doing it for the money. Who needs it.

ok, ok, well played, i see where your com in from. i guess im just not a huge video game player, thats all. so i guess i cant relate to all these new gadgets you tweens are drooling over.
id rather spend my money on something that doesnt involve staring at a screen mashing buttons like the countless other FPS that have come before it. you DO have to admit that all the COD games etc etc are basically the same thing over and over again with just new maps (that you have to pay for). i think thats why im so against video games now, because you it is a blatant money grab. at least i get a season out of my skis, but i havent paid for skis in 4 years now. ill keep my dineros and stick to the classics.

this is the equivalent of saying all movies are the same, only with different plots and actors. Once you've seen one, you've pretty much seen them all.


because yes, in the very simplest form, they are the same. You point a gun and you shoot. However the story, the characters, the settings, and the action changes in each one.

I feel like their backpedaling on the DRM stuff is worse than sticking to their guns. They seem weak to me now. For all the people who are going to slam me: I know, it's MS, they're a multi-million dollar company, they've done this once or twice and no what's up. BUT...as a consumer, my view of them is now skewed and they seem petty. It seems like they basically tried to fuck us, but didn't commit and asked if we were ok before they raped us, then dropped the lube and now they're deciding it's not such a good idea. So no, I won't support the company. Not to mention when they were asked about military members and the DRM requirements, Microsoft basically said, "eh.......fuck em."

I definitely see your view point, but also consider it this way, Microsoft listened to the consumers and changed to try and make them happy, which in my eyes makes them a better company. I think admitting they made a mistake and fixing it is the better approach to the situation

They didn't do it because people got upset. they did it because they realized they were saving pennies but losing $$$$ because no one wanted it and no one would buy their shitty Xbox.

none of us have the ability to hear what goes on in those meetings where they decide to do things like this, but just from the way this played out and was released it definitely is more of a negative connotation. they saw how many people were already giving up on Xbox and going with the Ps4, i know in the Xbox vs Ps4 thread here there were a huge number of people ditching xbox, and both companies do monitor the trends in which the 'general gaming population' is following. in all honesty this just seems like a "fuck we really screwed ourselves on this one boys" scenario and they're pretty much grasping at straws to not potentially ruin themselves.

It was two months ago, but yes. In an interview, MS' VP or some shit was talking about the Always Online stuff and acknowledged the fact that their new policies would mean that none of the deployed soldiers who don't have daily access to WiFi (basically all of them in the middle east) would be unable to use the new Xbox at all.

His response was the politically correct version of "Yeah, well, tough shit."

Yea but ps4 costs $100 less than the one, that's 2 years of live. I mean, ill never use that kinect shit. Also you can use your old headsets with ps4 without having to buy an adapter, also ps4 includes a headset instead of Xbox relying on people talking out loud and the kinect mic picking it up.

Kinect bundle is mandatory. Also I have a headset, just saying its nice that they include one, cause live will be more social that way

mm, i'm pretty sure every xbox one comes with kinect so you'll pay $100 extra for it no matter what. However you don't have to USE the kinect in order for the xbox one to work.

But essentially xbox one is $100 more expensive than the ps4, and that $100 goes towards a kinect sensor that you can use if you choose to do so.

I found this article on it, if you're interested. Not listing it in a pompous manner as if we're arguing though haha.

However, if what you said is true, you can buy xbox for $400 without the kinect, I would maybe reconsider and trade my ps4 preorder for an xbox one preorder.
