14 din Vs 18 din

So I have a offer on fks 140 and 180's both for the same price. I am 5'5" and 155 pounds and a very aggressive skier. Would an 18 din binding be too much?

I'd definitely go for the 14 din bindings. 18 din seems way overkill especially if your only 155 Lbs. what din do you normally ride at though?

if your din is 9 or less get 14

I ride a 10 din and the only reason I was wondering was just for the metal toe piece but I definitely don't want to end up raping myself thanks for the advice!

ten is pretty high for you. im 5'7 160 and ride an eight din on some look pivot 14s. i come out when i need to but never prerelase. id say 18s are just too much for your size.

On the DIN chart I looked at, even as a level 3+ skier your rec. DIN is ~7. Honestly I think a 14 DIN would be fine, unless your planning on running your DINs below minimum; but if you're not even on the DIN range, you probably don't need them.

Taking your DIN setting out of the equation, all you'd gain by going with an 18 is the more durable metal PivotRace Toe over the plastic Dual Action III toe on the 14.

Get the 155s.

Same construction and single pivot toe as the 180s, but with the lighter spring.

Honestly the best binding ever made. The new 14 and 18 have lesser quality (namely the half moon piece) components and the 155 had the ideal din and toe piece for almost anyone outside the world cup. Now I know you have the option of the 14 or the 18 and I would have to agree that the 14 is probably a better option for you.

My friend has the 155s, he bought some racing skis that had them on them at a ski swap for super cheap. Resold the skis and broke even with what he had paid for. Best part about the 155 fks 18 construction, but lower din range. Racers use them a lot so they should be easy to find at a ski swap.
