Yeah but he is a professional baseball player. He knew the situation and knew that no pitcher would hit him like that, just proving he is a dick. He also has 40+ lbs on Greinke. No damn need for him to charge him like that.
meanin that that is his schtick. kinda like craig biggio. they lean in on the plate and turn into the pitch. leadin the leaue in hit-by-pitches multiple ti9me doesnt happen by coincide.
I never understand why the pitchers don't just plant a solid cleat in the chest of the batter in a situation like this. Instead, he went in with the shoulder against a guy who was much bigger than him and ended up with a broken clavicle.
Yeah, he definitely does more than the average batter, but that doesn't mean pitchers don't do it intentionally. If they see a guy leaning in, they might try to pitch it inside to try to send a message and get him to back off. Now, when either side refuses to cave in, somethings gotta give.
I'm not saying he doesn't deserve getting hit so many times. But, when his batting stance is habitual and the only position that he feels comfortable in, I can sympathize and say that I can't blame him for snapping for the first time after he'd been hit by the same dude a couple of times before.
he doesnt get out of the way. he leans into the pitch.
you et pissed when a pitcher is throwin AT you. not when he is tryin to pitch you inside to et you off the plate. reinke certainly wasnt tryin to throw at him in that late of a ballame with that tiht of a score.
Its a bush leaue move that will lead to other players on the Padres getting thrown at. I would be pissed off at him if he was my teammate. now im gonna have to wear a 90mph fastball, fiht, and be suspended all because he thouht he was biger than winning the game.
Greinke didn't purposely hit him. Quentin leads the MLB in being hit and has for 4 or 5 years. He blames his hitting style, but that's bullshit.
Dodgers should sue Quentin and the Padres and make them pay for any portion of Greinke's contract where he cannot play.
DA should also have charged him with battery. You can't break a normal person's collarbone on purpose and not have consequences. The 8 game or so suspension is too easy.
