Skiing is getting pretty crazy, im so amazed by triples, and doubles. But will the sport keep progressing in that direction? or will it go a route of combination. Will we see a quadruple cork, misty, or rodeo? Or will we see a course in the olympics in 20 years where the skiers are so elite, and masters of there craft, that all types of skiing are combined into 1. Im talkin an event course with rails, jumps, halfpipe, moguls, slolum, super G, and aerials.

for the record i think modern day moguls is a pretty good example of how this already exists in the sport. In that its a combo of (25%) jumps, (50%) form, and (25%) speed.

I dont think you will ever see a full on mashup of sports (at the pro level)- not all at once and not broken up into combined "all around" events. You see it in the dynamic of gymnastics, but (apart from weather people would ever be interested in doing that) having a really really diverse set of combined events would be way to cost preventative for it to become the norm.

Word. Yeah it is true that some parts of the sport are evolved forms of old styles.
